About the Role

We are hiring an Industry & Experiential Marketing Lead to build OpenAI’s presence and relationships across the global advertising industry. You will shape how we engage industry organizations, and influential marketing leaders, creating programs and experiences that build understanding, trust, and demand for OpenAI’s advertising solutions.

Reporting to the Head of Global Large Advertiser Marketing, you will define our industry engagement strategy, develop strategic relationships, and lead our participation in the moments that matter most to the advertising community. Your remit will span industry partnerships, conferences, executive programs, experiential activations, and research and content developed with industry partners.

You will work closely with Sales, Communications, Customer Marketing, and Content & Solutions Marketing, partnering with OpenAI’s centralized Events & Experiences team on production and delivery. This role requires a leader who can set a global strategy, build a function, and personally drive its most important programs.

In this role, you will:
  • Define the global industry engagement strategy. Identify the organizations, communities, leaders, and moments that can most effectively advance advertiser understanding, credibility, and adoption.

  • Build strategic industry relationships. Lead relationships with advertising trade associations, professional communities, event organizers, and other industry partners; develop joint programs with clear value for OpenAI and the industry.

  • Own the advertising industry events portfolio. Prioritize conferences, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, and activations based on audience relevance, business objectives, and investment.

  • Create distinctive experiences. Develop executive gatherings, industry forums, roundtables, and other formats that bring OpenAI’s advertising story to life and deepen relationships with advertisers and agencies.

  • Lead program strategy and execution. Set objectives, audience strategy, programming, creative briefs, and engagement plans, partnering with the centralized Events & Experiences team on production and delivery.

  • Develop thought leadership partnerships. Collaborate with industry organizations and internal teams to identify research, insights, and content opportunities that address meaningful advertiser questions.

  • Shape executive participation. Partner with Communications and senior leaders on relevant speaking opportunities, session concepts, and preparation.

  • Connect engagement to commercial outcomes. Work with Sales and Vertical Marketing on customer participation, meeting programs, and follow-up that extend the value of each experience.

  • Build and lead the function. Manage external partners, and establish priorities, budgets, and ways of working.

You might thrive in this role if you have:
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B marketing, advertising industry marketing, experiential marketing, strategic partnerships, or related roles.

  • Strong understanding of the advertising ecosystem, including enterprise advertisers, agencies, industry organizations, and the factors that influence media investment.

  • A track record of developing industry partnerships and delivering programs or experiences that advance customer relationships and business objectives.

  • Experience leading complex programs with Sales, Communications, creative teams, event production teams, and external partners.

  • Strong strategic and creative judgment, with the ability to turn business priorities into compelling programming and experiences.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including experience working with senior executives and external industry leaders.

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment, make decisions with incomplete information, and move comfortably between strategy and hands-on execution.

  • Experience establishing success measures and using results to improve programs and guide investment.
