Job Description

Role: Informatica ETL Developer

Duration: 6 months +

Location: Ontario, CA


Job Description:

Responsibilities: 

• Understanding Data Sources; Use Data Modeling concepts to design and develop Dimensional Model for a Data Warehouse

• Design & Development of Data Integration processes using Informatica PowerCenter 9.5.1

Administer PowerCenter environment to ensure security, auditability, Data Validation, Data Analysis, performance tuning and other required data integration related activities

• Analysis, design, deployment, coding and testing of Data warehousing using Informatica (ETL) on OLAP and OLTP environment and implementation of Database Management Systems  

• Database Modeling/Designing using Erwin to design Conceptual/Logical/Physical Modeling, Forward/Reverse engineering and ER Modeling, Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) and Data Warehousing, OLAP tools.

• Implementation of Data Warehousing, Data Marts, Star and Snow Flake Schema Modeling,

Dimensional Modeling on OLTP and OLAP concepts using Ralph Kimball and Bill Inmon methodologies.

• Designing and developing mappings, mapplets and reusable transformations using Informatica Designer. Proficient in Normalization/Denormalization techniques

• Support existing data ware house solution while fine tuning the system for optimal performance 

• Proficient in Agile/scrum project methodology

Required Knowledge and Experience: 

• Long track record on data warehouse/business intelligence design and build.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of current, hands on development experience implementing ETL solutions, particularly utilizing Informatica Powercenter ETL platform – Powercenter 9.x or above.  

• Experience with Oracle Applications E-Business Suite 11.5.10 or R12 as data source or general knowledge of Oracle e-Business data structures highly desirable

• Strong Database Development Skills (particularly implementing SQL solutions in Oracle 10g/11g Database to build large-scale applications.)  

• Strong experience in the design and development of mappings, transformations, sessions and workflows

• Experience with a variety of sources (EBS, XML, Oracle, flat file, excel spreadsheets, transactional (OLTP) sources, etc.). 

• Experience and advanced knowledge of logical and physical database modeling concepts and techniques 

• Understand normalized and star-schema (dimensional) physical models and logical modeling concepts. 

• Extensive programming experience in SQL & PL/SQL, tuning and optimization.

• Extensive experience determining, developing, testing, and implementing system requirements and specifications

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Experience working in Agile development software methodology

Education:

BA/BS in Business, Information Systems, Statistics or relevant discipline
