Job Description SummaryThe Information Management Data Architect will be responsible for the practical implementation of data governance policies. They will be the subject matter expert related to managing and maintaining data, enforcing data quality, resolving data-related issues, and ensuring compliance with regulations. They will act as the primary interface between the business, information management, information technology and engineering organizations. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap, design pattern, and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
  • Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level.
  • Responsible for multiple software projects as a project leader or internal consultant; support highly complex software projects that require in-depth domain knowledge or specialized architecture areas. 
  • Participate in the data domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction. 
  • Participate in the Data Governance Council.
  • Participate in development data and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.
  • Effectively monitor and control costs in the organization.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or ‘STEM’ Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering (any), and Math) or related field.
  • Five (5) years working with data catalog tools (e.g. Alation, Colibra, Informatica) including developing workflows and supporting metadata within the platform
  • Four (4) years of experience in software architecture design and development.  

Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise
 

  • Work experience to include: Snowflake or Databricks
  • Cloud platforms to include: AWS, Azure, and GCP; SQL to develop and maintain data models, as well as to optimize data pipelines;
  • Experience Optimizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes for performance and efficiency.
  • Exposure with data management tools such as data catalogs, metadata management tools and databases
  • Certification in data management or related areas (e.g. DMP, DM-BOK, etc.)
  • Exposure to industry standard data catalog, automated data discovery and data lineage tools (e.g., Informatica, Alation, Collibra, TAMR etc., )
  • Exposure to industry standard data modeling tools (e.g., ERWin, ER Studio, etc.).
  • Exposure to Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) tools like Informatica or Talend
  • Hands-on experience in writing SQL scripts for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL or HiveQL

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $119,200.00 and $198,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
