Lead the Institutional Consulting Group; manage client relationships and grow membership; oversee team performance; support investment management education and research.
Callan is seeking a new team member to lead the Institutional Consulting Group (ICG) in one of the following Callan office locations: San Francisco headquarters, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Portland, or Summit, NJ. As a Senior Vice President at Callan, a leading independent investment consulting firm, you will have an opportunity to support some of the largest, most sophisticated investment management organizations in the world. We’re seeking someone with a strong knowledge of the institutional investment arena and investment management organizations, exceptional project management skills, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for building lasting relationships with clients and fellow Callan colleagues.
Please note: This position will be an office-based position, working a hybrid (office/home) schedule with approximately 1-3 days a week in the office.

Callan’s Institutional Consulting Group is a trusted partner to the investment management community. ICG provides education and research through the Callan Institute, as well as analytical tools to investment manager clients. As manager of Callan’s ICG, you will oversee two professionals, and the group is collectively responsible for servicing approximately 150 investment manager clients.
Primary Duties
Prospective Clients/New Business Generation
· Represent Callan at industry events (e.g., AIMSE)
· Manage annual Callan Institute membership renewals with existing clients
· New Institute client membership development for membership growth
· Promote Callan College, Master Class, and Callan On Demand Education (CODE) sales
Client Responsibilities
· Support Institute clients and client use of Callan tools, research, and education. Develop proficiency in proprietary tools including PEP and CallanDNA to support and assist client use
· Proactive client outreach
· Attend Institute in-person events and interact with investment manager clients (Callan hosted conferences, workshops, etc.)
· Attend virtual Institute educational events and focus groups
· Respond to client informational requests
· Travel as needed to provide in-person industry trends and updates to clients
Team Management/Other
· Oversee the day-to-day functions of the ICG. Manage two team members including one senior consultant and one associate consultant
· Track metrics on Institute membership, as well as Callan College for Managers and Master Class attendance
· Track and maintain metrics on research requests
· Foster our collaborative and client-focused culture
· Coordinate across the ICG team, Callan’s Institute team, and broader Callan organization
· Host and participate in the “Callan College for Managers” and master classes. Provide support and education to attendees before and during sessions. Lead the {insert} session
· Host quarterly Market Intelligence calls for Institute clients including an interview segment with a subject matter expert
· Be an active voice and advocate for investment manager clients regarding Institute programming, research development, trends and areas of interest
Job Skills & Requirements
Skills:
· Knowledge of the capital markets in general and the institutional investment landscape and institutional investment managers in particular
· Success in client service and in developing client relationships
· Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and confidently verbally and in writing
· Ability to collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams in a collegial fashion
· Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work
· Strong technical skills and knowledge of CRM systems, preferably Salesforce

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree required
· 10+ years of work experience preferred, particularly in the investment industry
· Management experience across cross-functional teams preferred
