At Cencora, we are united in our responsibility to create healthier futures. As a Summer 2027 Intern, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a professional business environment while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience within our Finance team.
Throughout the internship, you will work on real business initiatives, collaborate with team members and leaders, develop professional skills, and contribute to projects that support Cencora's purpose of creating healthier futures.
Start Date: June 7, 2027
End Date: August 13, 2027
Location: The current office location is Carrollton, with a potential move to the DFW office in Dallas. Tuesdays are expected to be office-based.
Hybrid working arrangement, with 1-2 days per week in the office.
This internship is designed for students who are curious, motivated, and eager to learn while making a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This internship provides hands-on experience across three teams responsible for customer account setup and onboarding. The intern will rotate among the teams, learning their processes and assisting with a variety of account setup activities. At least 50% of the internship will be dedicated to supporting the Credit team with credit reviews, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) lien filings, data analysis, and related responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, comfortable working with large data sets, and able to communicate professionally with internal partners and customers.
Responsibilities
  • Rotate across three customer account setup teams to learn end-to-end onboarding processes and provide day-to-day operational support.
  • Spend at least 50% of the internship supporting the Credit team.
  • Run and review credit reports and other available financial information.
  • Perform initial credit reviews, identify relevant risks or missing information, and prepare findings or recommendations for team review.
  • Assist with preparing, filing, tracking, and maintaining UCC lien documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Validate customer onboarding documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal requirements.
  • Enter, update, and maintain customer and account information in applicable systems and trackers.
  • Use Excel to organize, reconcile, analyze, and summarize large data sets, including creating basic formulas and pivot tables.
  • Research and resolve routine data or documentation discrepancies, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Prepare status updates, reports, and process documentation to support team activities and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Communicate professionally with internal partners and, when needed, customers to obtain information or clarify documentation.
  • Support additional account setup, credit, and onboarding projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Currently pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Rising sophomore, junior, or senior at the time of the internship preferred
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.
  • Coursework or experience in credit analysis, finance, accounting, business law, or data analysis.
  • Experience reviewing business documents or working with customer or financial data.
  • Familiarity with UCC filings, customer onboarding, credit processes, or enterprise systems is helpful but not required.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create and use basic formulas, build pivot tables, and work effectively with large data sets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Sound analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
  • Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential customer and financial information.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and regulatory requirements.
