But today we’re working better, smarter and faster than ever—and setting our sights even higher. We’re building an infrastructure designed for scalability, embracing data-driven decision-making and using technology to improve efficiency and ensure the best tools for the best work. Most importantly, we continue to invest in a diverse team of inquisitive top talent who fuel each other’s passions and curiosity, take risks, try new things and believe that every new day brings opportunities for growth.

Job Description

When an educator or school places an order with Lakeshore, a lot of precise behind-the-scenes work makes sure the right products show up at the right time. As a Proposal Support Specialist, you'll own the setup and accuracy of sourced products in our ERP system — keeping orders on track, data clean, and internal teams aligned. It's detailed, meaningful work that directly supports the teachers and families we serve every day.

Please note that this position is open to internal candidates only. External candidates who apply will not be considered for this role.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Set up sourced products end-to-end in our ERP system, ensuring every item detail, selection, and quantity is accurate before an order moves forward.
  • Review and cross-reference project documentation and community scope to verify order accuracy prior to data entry.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Sales, and Planning Operations to confirm product setup is complete and materials are available when orders need to ship.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams — including Accounting and the sales field — to surface and resolve pricing discrepancies before they affect an order.
  • Identify and reconcile moderately complex order or data discrepancies in a timely way, keeping workflows moving and records reliable.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready electronic order files in line with company policies and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in order processing, data entry, operations coordination, or a closely related role.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite — especially Excel and Outlook — and a track record of picking up new systems quickly.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams that may have different priorities.
  • This is a hybrid role based at our Carson, CA headquarters; you'll need to be on-site on a regular, scheduled basis.

Preferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP system or in a high-volume fulfillment or order management environment.

What sets you apart:

  • You catch what others miss — errors in a spreadsheet, a quantity that doesn't match the scope document, a detail that could cause a delay downstream.
  • When a discrepancy surfaces, you move toward it rather than around it, and you follow it through to resolution without being asked twice.
  • You stay organized even when the work is fast-moving and priorities shift, because you know that clean records today prevent bigger problems tomorrow.
