iOS Engineer, Flights Search

Our Technology team is the backbone of our company: constantly creating, testing, learning and iterating to better meet the needs of our customers. If you thrive in a fast-paced, ideas-led environment, you’re in the right place.

Why this job’s a big deal:

As demand for seamless travel booking and flight discovery continues to reach record levels, we are focused on delivering a faster, highly responsive, and intuitive flights and shopping experience to make {big deal} moments happen for our customers. Our development environment is optimistic, collaborative, fast-moving, tight-knit, and rolls up its sleeves. Join our open, dynamic, no-red-tape web and platform engineering team—including designers, product managers, and backend engineers—who believe in hiring people who love what they do.

In this role you will get to:

  • Build and optimize Priceline's world-class native iOS flights search and shopping experience across iPhone and iPad apps.
  • Perform extensive native development in Xcode, utilizing Swift and SwiftUI to construct reactive, accessible, and high-performance booking flows.
  • Create innovative flight search features—from real-time fare comparison and seat map interactions to flight customization and dynamic checkout flows—from scratch.
  • Leverage modern AI-assisted developer tools (such as Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot) to accelerate ideation, code generation, refactoring, and automated testing workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, backend engineers, and UI/UX specialists to craft fast, stable solutions built on top of Apple’s latest iOS SDKs.
  • Architect client-side data handling, networking, and caching strategies to minimize search latency and ensure smooth app performance during peak booking traffic.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced iOS developers on modern Swift best practices, clean architecture, and UI responsiveness.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience building and maintaining high-performance, customer-facing iOS applications.
  • Strong expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, the iOS SDK, and the Xcode development environment.
  • Deep understanding of modern Swift Concurrency (e.g., async/await, Actors, TaskGroups, and structured concurrency patterns).
  • Hands-on experience with clean mobile architecture patterns (such as MVVM-C, VIPER, or The Composable Architecture / TCA) tailored for declarative UI workflows.
  • Fluency with AI-first developer tooling (e.g., Cursor, Claude, LLM-driven coding workflows) to increase development velocity, inspect edge cases, and streamline delivery.
  • Familiarity with local data persistence (e.g., SwiftData, Core Data, or Realm), network caching layer integration (URLSession), and dependency management using Swift Package Manager (SPM).
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented and functional programming, data structures, unit testing (XCTest/Swift Testing), performance profiling (Instruments), and multithreaded debugging.
  • Demonstrated domain experience with flight search engines, travel e-commerce, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), real-time dynamic pricing, or complex API consumption (REST/GraphQL) is a strong plus.
  • Illustrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability, and Trust.
  • The Right Results, the Right Way" is not just a motto at Priceline; it’s a way of life. Unquestionable integrity and ethics is essential.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

The salary range for this position is $130,000- $160,000K USD.
