Job Description

Job Title: IT - GIS Specialist/Analyst

Location: San Ramon, CA

Duration: 2+ Months

Responsibilities:

• Staff members in this labor category provide the following support: -Provide user support with GIS tools / functionality.

• Provide GIS support and data integration.

• Gather, integrate, and convert data from various sources into ArcGIS databases.

• Develop and perform data gathering, data integration and quality control procedures for geospatial data, interface with data source systems to resolve issues.

• Respond to requests for GIS queries or maps for special projects.

• Create and update metadata and catalog GIS layers, including documenting work flow procedures for staff using GIS.

• Support the preparation of annual reports to FERC, (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), SEC (Security and Exchange Commission), OPS (Office of Pipeline Safety) and CPUC (California Public Utilities Commission).

• Support enterprise GIS data modeling and data capture initiatives as well as software functionality review.

• Work collaboratively with other work groups and vendors, troubleshoot issues, produce technical communication.

• Continually identify opportunities for improvement in the way work is done, share expertise and lessons learned

• Demonstrate by personal action a 100% commitment to employee and public safety.

• Accurately identify Safety Critical Elements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s Degree / equivalent or relevant experience.

• 3 years of experience with GIS applications.

• 1 year experience in ArcGIS 9.x or later.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Oracle, or SQL server databases

• Proficiency in a programming language Shell script, Python, or Visual Basic.

• Safety record demonstrating safety is a priority for self and team

• Desired: -Utility or Pipeline industry experience.

• PODS data model experience.

• Gas Distribution or Transmission Experience.

• Integrity Management and Risk Management experience.
