What the job involves

We're seeking a passionate and hands-on IT Manager to lead our IT engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will not only guide the team but also actively contribute to taking our IT infrastructure to the next level to improve productivity while ensuring state-of-the-art security. Your responsibilities will span the full spectrum of IT operations, requiring both strategic oversight and direct technical involvement.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy - Leading, mentoring, and developing our team of IT engineers, including task prioritization and direction while driving the evolution and strategy of our IT infrastructure to meet current and future business needs.

Network & Connectivity - Designing, implementing, maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting, and expanding our office network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, Firewalls) to optimize performance and security.

Corporate Systems & Automation - Managing and administering corporate systems (e.g., Google Workspace, Okta, Office 365, Slack, Zoom), while seeking opportunities for interaction, integration, and automation.

Device & Asset Management - Administering our corporate Mobile Device Management (MDM) system while ensuring efficient provisioning, deployment, support (Windows, Linux, MacOS), and inventory management of all IT assets, including desktops and laptops.

Collaboration & A/V Systems - Overseeing video conferencing infrastructure (e.g., Zoom rooms, scheduling tablets) and managing office audio/video systems. 

Security & Compliance

Security Framework - Developing, implementing, enforcing, and auditing security policies, user access controls, and maintaining our corporate Zero Trust security model.

Endpoint Security - Overseeing endpoint security rollout and health monitoring on all corporate devices.

Compliance & Audits - Ensuring and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001) and implementing relevant policies while performing regular account audits and reconciliation

Incident & Risk Management - Serving as the primary owner of incident management for corporate IT systems, developing and maintaining incident response protocols in collaboration with Security and Engineering teams.

User Enablement & Support

User Lifecycle: Streamlining onboarding and off boarding processes for all users.

Technical Support: Providing excellent, comprehensive technical support for end-users with a strong user-centric approach.

Operational Excellence: Effectively managing multiple priorities, projects, and escalations in a dynamic startup environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of progressive hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and operations management.

  • Experience in managing network infrastructure (e.g., Cisco, Meraki, Ubiquiti)

  • Demonstrated experience with account provisioning and identity management systems (e.g., Google Workspace, JumpCloud, Okta, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of zero-trust security principles, endpoint security, and network security best practices.

  • Experience managing A/V systems (Zoom, conference room tech, digital signage) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with industry compliance requirements (e.g., SOC2, ISO) and the implementation of related policies.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proven budget management and vendor negotiation experience is a plus.
