IMC has a strong presence in traditional Finance and has been expanding into Crypto over the last years. IMC provides liquidity and trades on many cryptocurrency exchanges and DeFi protocols. IMC Zug is currently looking to expand its IT Operations & Infrastructure team, which makes sure our people can work on all their activities. You will work from desktop support to configuring and automating our systems making sure our colleagues can move at a higher pace and quality each day.
Your Core Responsibilities
Your support is key to the success of our Zug office and the colleagues working there. We are a small team that moves fast and works in a startup kind of way. That means that you will be given full ownership of our IT Operations and can become an invaluable member of our Zug office from day 1! You remove blockades for everyone by implementing, supporting and maintaining all user devices, our systems and our network. You'll act as first, second and third level of support.
If you want to learn and grow you need to be on top of your game and be willing to take responsibility and act autonomous to provide an IT environment that is tackling all issues amongst them:
  • Fulltime on-site 1st, 2nd and 3rd line Support to our users (<50)
  • Support physical and virtual desktop environment, infrastructure components (like Linux VM remote access, O365, AD, Email, MDM, Audio and Visual Communication systems)
  • Deploy enterprise updates for macOS and some Windows and other desktop applications
  • Install, modify and repair computer hardware and software (including servers, desktop and printers)
  • Troubleshoot, escalate and document computer network issues
  • Own our Facilities Management with the execution of desk and physical equipment moves, but also maintaining relations with vendors and other third parties
  • Everything necessary to keep us moving! This will teach you a lot of new things!

Your Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of Windows and Mac Operating Systems.
  • Basic Linux experience (Fedora/CentOS/Ubuntu)
  • A degree (BSc) ideally in ICT related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • You live in the Zug region at this moment in time (important!)
  • Confident in written and spoken English and German
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; ability to solve problems creatively and proactively
  • Your basic network knowledge/wifi networks are considered a big plus
  • Willing to get involved in physical tasks such as desk moves and room setups
  • You have a strong drive to learn and develop yourself, both technically as well as in areas of personal development
  • You are curious and like to understand why things work way they do, how you can improve and automate tasks and how you can leverage technology to help us become more robust as a company!
  • You are a self-starter that works with a sense of urgency and priorities based on business needs
  • You are willing to come to the office full-time as our IT Operations Engineer is based 'on-site'.

Note: we care more about motivation and the affinity with IT Operations, Mac and Linux if you are the perfect fit that will go the extra mile. But realistically hands-on experience is considered as an added value.
Location and Office Culture
Note that this is an onsite role, with very limited flexibility for working from home and requiring presence in our Zug office. Here you can expect a dynamic, fast-paced (startup like) environment that delivers a steady stream of challenges and opportunities for personal growth.
We give people lots of responsibility and the support they need to make an impact from day one and we promise you a flat structure with an open, collaborative culture that stimulates the sharing of ideas, knowledge and technology between our teams and offices.
About Us
IMC is a global trading firm powered by a cutting-edge research environment and a world-class technology backbone. Since 1989, we've been a stabilizing force in financial markets, providing essential liquidity upon which market participants depend. Across our offices in the US, Europe, Asia Pacific, and India, our talented quant researchers, engineers, traders, and business operations professionals are united by our uniquely collaborative, high-performance culture, and our commitment to giving back. From entering dynamic new markets to embracing disruptive technologies, and from developing an innovative research environment to diversifying our trading strategies, we dare to continuously innovate and collaborate to succeed.
