We’re proud to foster a supportive, purpose-driven culture where people feel like family—yes, we even have a Happiness Manager! Our team thrives on collaboration, creativity, and a shared passion for meaningful work that makes a difference.

We’re currently looking for an IT Support Intern to join our team and help keep our people, systems, and digital infrastructure running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how IT support, cybersecurity, and DevOps practices come together in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment—and how thoughtful, reliable support empowers teams to do their best work.

As a full-service digital agency based in Washington, DC, we partner with nonprofits, associations, B2B and B2C clients to elevate their digital presence and brand. Our client roster includes the American Lung Association, Boston Children’s Hospital, Rainforest Trust, and Special Olympics - to name a few.

Requirements

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

As an intern on the IT team, you’ll be introduced to a broad range of hands-on experiences that span day-to-day IT support, organizational security practices, and exposure to DevOps implementation. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support our IT & DevOps Processes:
    • Assist day-to-day with IT requests from team members, such as troubleshooting access issues, basic hardware/software questions, or help route requests to the appropriate owner
    • Help track weekly timesheets
    • Assist with monitoring client websites to help identify outages and flag concerns to the appropriate team
    • Help maintain internal IT and DevOps documentation, ensuring information stays current and easy to understand
  • Support Ongoing Cybersecurity Efforts:
    • Assist with monitoring alerts from security systems, escalating when necessary
    • Help organize, update, and document security policies and procedures
    • Work cross-functionally to help ensure security policies are understood and implemented consistently across the organization
    • Gain exposure to best practices around organizational security, risk prevention, and compliance in a real-world business environment
  • Be a Go-To Team Player:
    • Step in to help wherever support is needed—whether it’s a last-minute project or lending a hand to keep things running behind the scenes
    • Bring a proactive, curious mindset—ask questions, offer support, and learn how teams collaborate.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented intern who is eager to learn how IT, security, and client hosting work within a fast-paced, collaborative digital agency environment. The ideal candidate will bring curiosity, reliability, and a willingness to jump in where needed.

  • 1+ years of professional work experience
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong interest in IT operations, cybersecurity, DevOps, or web hosting environments
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, operating systems, and common software tools
  • Comfortable learning new tools and technologies and asking questions when something is unclear
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when documenting processes or tracking tasks
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to manage time effectively in a remote work environment

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with web technologies, hosting platforms, or content management systems (e.g., WordPress or similar)
  • Exposure to cybersecurity concepts such as antivirus tools, access controls, password management, or security best practices
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, DevOps concepts, or monitoring tools
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid team environment

While hours are flexible and could change, we are looking for someone who is available to work for approximately ten to sixteen hours a week. Please note this opportunity is open to remote.

Benefits
  • Flexible Work Environment: This role is open to remote candidates, with the option to work from our Washington, DC office if you’re local. We prioritize flexibility and trust.
  • Growth & Mentorship: Gain hands-on experience and build practical skills that translate beyond the classroom.
  • Team Connection: Join a collaborative, mission-driven team that makes time for connection—whether through virtual events or in-person gatherings.
  • Professional Development: Expand your technical knowledge through real-world exposure to IT operations, cybersecurity best practices, and client hosting environments.
  • Office Perks (DC-based team members): Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, team lunches, and access to our on-site gym when working from the office.

Compensation: This is a paid internship at $17.95 per hour
