The team

Hitachi Digital Services Japan, which is the HDS’s Japan country office, is strengthening its offshore engineering services leveraging development centers in Vietnam and India, building a global delivery structure that combines high quality and cost competitiveness.


The role

The Japanese Speaking Software Engineer will work along with team members and customer, report directly to the project manager. Main responsibilities will include delivering new features, follow software development process, and contribute ideas to improve the project as follows:

  • Participate in development activities such as requirement, design, programing, testing.
  • Analyze requirements directly throughout Japanese documents.
  • Support Japanese communication happening in project.
  • Develop and review technical documents.
  • Verify system before delivery.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in software development or related technical roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Cloud technologies, Python, and SQL.
  • Highly motivated professional with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and business domains, and a strong interest in building a long-term career in Japan.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, proactive mindset, and excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Experience or domain knowledge in the energy sector is a strong advantage.

Language proficiency:

  • Japanese: Business-level proficiency (JLPT N2 or above preferred).
  • English: Business-level proficiency (for meetings and documentation with overseas centers).
  • Vietnamese: Business-level proficiency (for communication and negotiation with the local SE team).
