About Us

Legora is redefining how legal work gets done. Not built for lawyers, built with them. We work alongside the world’s best legal teams, who expect excellence, precision, and speed, and we hold ourselves to the same bar.
Our AI-native workspace lets legal professionals move faster, think more clearly, and operate with sharper precision. By analysing thousands of documents in minutes and powering end-to-end workflows, we cut through complexity, teams can focus on what matters: judgment, strategy, and outcomes.
2,100+ customers across 80+ countries trust us, including Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Linklaters, White & Case, Dentons, and Barclays. We’ve scaled to $200M+ in ARR, with teams across Europe, North America and APAC, and continue to expand through acquisitions including Qura, Walter AI, Graceview, Cadastral, and Wexler.
We partner with world-class performers: including Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees, Ludvig Åberg (and his caddie), and campaigns featuring Jude Law.
Joining Legora means three things.

  • We lean in: ownership over titles, outcomes over intentions.

  • We fight for excellence: high standards, direct, ego-free feedback.

  • We grow together: as a team and with our customers.

Mission before ego. Everyone contributes. No one coasts.

If you’re driven by impact, pace, and raising the bar. This is the place.

Please note, this role is 5 days/week on-site in NYC.

The Role

As a Junior/Mid-level Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work directly with enterprise customers to understand their needs and build the software that connects Legora to their systems and workflows.

You'll build integrations and contribute to Legora's core product, taking defined projects from technical scoping through implementation, testing, and production delivery. You'll learn to turn customer needs into practical engineering solutions, with support from experienced engineers on more complex architecture and delivery decisions.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role within Enterprise Engineering. You'll work closely with product engineers, Legal Engineers, and Engagement Managers, building your technical judgment and customer-facing skills while taking increasing ownership of delivery.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Work with enterprise customers and your team to understand workflows, clarify requirements, and translate customer needs into engineering tasks.

  • Build, test, and ship integrations and product changes, taking ownership of defined projects from implementation through deployment.

  • Explain technical decisions clearly, ask useful questions, and keep customers and teammates informed about progress and blockers.

  • Work with experienced engineers on design reviews and technical tradeoffs, seeking support early when requirements or risks are unclear.

  • Debug issues across Legora and customer systems, using logs, tests, and systematic investigation to find and resolve problems.

  • Bring customer feedback into product discussions and identify opportunities to make solutions and tooling reusable.

Who You Are
  • 2-3+ years of software engineering experience, with hands-on experience building and shipping production software.

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals. You can write, test, and debug reliable code and work effectively in an existing codebase.

  • A clear communicator who is comfortable talking with customers, asking questions, and explaining technical work to engineers and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Experience taking a feature or defined project through implementation and delivery. You can explain what you built, the decisions you made, and the outcome.

  • Curious about the problem behind a request. You want to understand how people use what you build and improve it based on feedback.

  • Accountable for your work, receptive to feedback, and able to surface blockers early. You are ready to take on more independence as your scope grows.

  • Adaptable across technologies and interested in learning unfamiliar systems quickly.

Nice to Have
  • Experience building B2B enterprise software in a fast-moving environment.

  • Experience working directly with customers or partnering with product teams to understand user needs.

  • Familiarity with APIs, authentication, integrations, and data flows across systems.

  • TypeScript experience. We use it extensively, but welcome strong engineers from other stacks.

  • Practical experience using AI tools to build software or improve a workflow.

What’s In It For You
  • Global collaboration: Partner with teams and clients across Europe, APAC, and North America.

  • Competitive package: Comprehensive salary, benefits, and tools for success.

  • Meaningful work: Your efforts shape how thousands of lawyers use AI daily.

  • In-person environment: Union Square office designed for ambitious builders and company provided lunch daily.

  • Benefits & Perks: We invest in our people with a comprehensive, thoughtfully designed benefits package:
    Medical, Dental & Vision

    • Multiple medical plan options through Aetna and Kaiser Permanente

    • HSA or Healthcare FSA (based on plan selection)

    • Dental plans via MetLife

    • Vision plans via Vision Care

    Family Support

    • Generous parental leave

    • Free access to Maven Clinic

    • Dependent Care FSA

    • Free One Medical membership for employees and dependents

    Additional Perks

    • Pre-tax commuter benefits

    • Life Insurance + STD/LTD

    • 401(K) with generous company match

    • Unlimited PTO

    • Robust voluntary benefits, including identity protection (via Aura), legal coverage via MetLife, pet savings programs, and more
