Saalex is seeking a Junior Program Financial Analyst in Corona, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $65K-$75K (depending on experience)

Work Location: Onsite.

Position Summary:

The Junior Program Financial Analyst provides financial and programmatic support to program management teams. This role assists with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, funds management, and audit readiness activities in support of Navy and DoD programs. The position supports both routine and ad‑hoc financial analysis and contributes to effective execution of program objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with budget preparation, tracking obligations and expenditures, and developing financial forecasts.
  • Fund Management: Support tracking of funding documents, Planning Sheets, and funding plans within Navy ERP/N-ERP and other financial databases as directed.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare periodic and as‑requested financial status reports, quad charts, variance analyses, and other program financial deliverables.
  • Reconciliation: Assist with reconciliation of financial records, identification of expiring funds, and execution of funds reconciliation activities.
  • Audit Support: Support audit readiness efforts by ensuring accurate documentation, traceability, and compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Project Scheduling and Tracking: Assist program management with project planning, resource tracking, and schedule monitoring.
  • Performance Monitoring: Collect and track data associated with program milestones, benchmarks, and technical performance indicators.
  • Data Analysis: Gather, analyze, and evaluate financial and program data to identify anomalies, variances, risks, and trends impacting program execution.
  • Documentation Support: Prepare briefs, meeting minutes, correspondence, and other materials for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Support process improvement initiatives, cost studies, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required:

  • 0–3 years of related financial, program, or analytical experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Familiarity with Navy financial systems (Navy ERP/N‑ERP), TEAMs, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools is desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to support collaboration with program managers, technical leads, and stakeholders.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, STEM or a related field is preferred, although experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Desired:

  • Experience with Naval, Marine Corps, or Joint financial programs.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, financial modeling).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, STEM or a related field is preferred, although experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Security Clearance:

  • Must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel required—approximately 6 trips annually, each lasting about one week
