Job Description

The Key Promotional Accounts Manager is responsible for driving sustainable growth by developing and executing strategic account plans for national key customers. The role ensures alignment with corporate strategy while delivering profitable business outcomes and strengthening long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.


Additionally, the role supports the effective implementation of the company’s Key Pharmacy Strategy across the assigned territory, ensuring consistent and compliant execution of commercial initiatives.


Major Accountabilities

1. Strategic Account Management

  • Develop and execute annual and seasonal account plans aligned with company strategy
  • Identify and drive new business growth opportunities across key accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national pharmacies and wholesalers
  • Position the company as a trusted business partner through tailored partnership strategies

2. Business Performance & Analytics

  • Monitor account performance vs targets and recommend corrective actions where required
  • Conduct customer performance analysis, SWOT assessments, and business reviews
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly account reviews, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Continuously track and optimize target achievement and commercial effectiveness

3. Commercial Execution & Field Alignment

  • Ensure execution of promotional activities in line with marketing plans and company policies
  • Monitor in-field deployment of agreed actions
  • Coordinate with field teams to ensure consistent and aligned execution at Pharmacy-store level

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing to design and implement customer-specific plans
  • Partner with Supply Chain to ensure product availability aligned with demand and targets
  • Align promotional investments with business-driving activities and ROI principles

5. Financial & Operational Management

  • Contribute to P&L performance at account level
  • Ensure effective management of budget, promotional investments, and GTN spend
  • Deliver timely and accurate reports and administrative requirements

6. Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, SOPs, and ethical standards
  • Promote adherence to company values and behaviors in all customer interactions

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of sales targets (quarterly and annual)
  • Account-level profitability and P&L performance
  • Quality and execution of account plans and promotional activities
  • Compliance with company policies and standards

Role Impact

This is a high-impact commercial role, directly contributing to country-level growth, financial performance, and execution excellence. The position plays a critical role in translating strategy into results at national key account level.

Profile Requirements

Education

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field
  • Postgraduate degree (e.g., MBA) is considered an asset

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Key Account Management within Pharma or FMCG
  • Proven track record of delivering consistent business growth

Skills

  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate insights into actions
  • Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • High level of ownership and execution focus

Languages

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Financial Responsibility

  • Accountable for turnover, budget, and cost management, including promotional investments

  • Key contributor to delivery of strategic, financial, and organizational objectives at country level
