Process and verify vehicle titles, resolve title issues with clients and DMVs, manage lien perfection and releases, monitor title aging, handle escalations, maintain policies and training materials, train team members, and support vault/mail operations and departmental reporting.
The Lead Business Service Specialist position will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of vehicle titles by verifying title information is correct, interacting with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve issues, maintaining knowledge of current laws regarding vehicle titles, and handling escalated client issues. Additional responsibilities will include extensive knowledge of departmental policies and procedures for title processing. This position requires previous experience working with vehicle titles and a good working knowledge of the automotive industry.

Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $22.02 - $33.08/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review titles for negotiability, sign and reassign titles for sellers and buyers.
- Complete application for new title on behalf of clients as needed.
- Facilitate lien perfection on NextGear Capital financed collateral when required.
- Release a NextGear Capital lien on collateral that has been paid in full according to policy.
- Answer communications from all clients on title questions and issues following up through resolution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on behalf of internal and external clients according to state specific title requirements.
- Assist with escalated issues within the department.
- Communicate effectively and maintain relationships with BMV/DMV agencies.
- Monitor aging of titles following departmental procedures and policies.
- Process documents received by clients to complete title follow-up.
- Assist in training new and cross training existing team members.
- Assess and determine proper outcomes for title release requests.
- Assist with maintaining training materials and departmental procedures and policies.
- Work closely with leaders for vault/mail room issues and operations.
- Asist with maintaining and reviewing departmental reports.
- Assisting supervisor in an operational capacity (does not include employee relations)
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have strong organizational skills and be very detail oriented.
- Effective communication skills and strong customer service attitude is required.
- Ability to work under limited supervision, exercises judgement on advanced and complex issues.
- Must be proficient in Discover / NGEN and TMS systems.
- Must be or be willing to become an Indiana Notary.
Preferred:
- Ability to recognize title brands and other relevant notations related to titles is not a requirement but is highly desired for the position.
- Previous vehicle title experience and title handling preferred.
- Knowledge of state title laws is highly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of business and departmental policies and procedures is highly desired.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED and 7 years' experience in a related field.
- OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 5 years' experience; OR 9 years' experience in a related field
Physical Demands:
- Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
- Bending and light lifting 10 lbs. or less required.
- Extensive detail handwritten and computer work.
