Job Description

The Lead Digital Product Manager(Sr Manager) will lead product strategy and delivery across Allstate’s Workday ecosystem. This individual will manage a team of product managers responsible for capabilities spanning Core HR, compensation, time and attendance, talent management, recruiting, and onboarding. The role will partner closely with HR, technology, engineering, and other product teams to build and execute an outcome-based roadmap that improves employee experience and advances enterprise priorities.
This leader will bring strong Workday platform knowledge and product management experience within an internal, end-user environment. They will evaluate competing business needs, determine how Workday capabilities fit together, and make thoughtful build, buy, or partner recommendations. Success requires balancing immediate stakeholder requests with broader platform implications, long-term product strategy, and the needs of Allstate employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the product strategy, vision, roadmap, and lifecycle management for Allstate’s Workday product portfolio.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of product managers supporting Workday products and capabilities across Core HR, compensation, time and attendance, talent management, recruiting, and onboarding.
  • Translate HR and business outcomes into clear product strategies, roadmaps, capabilities, and prioritized backlogs.
  • Balance the needs of HR Centers of Excellence and other business stakeholders with the broader experience of Allstate employees as the primary end users.
  • Evaluate incoming requests based on employee impact, business value, effort, risk, dependencies, and alignment with long-term product priorities.
  • Make and communicate build, buy, and partner recommendations that advance product strategy and maximize the value of Allstate’s existing technology investments.
  • Determine when to use existing Workday capabilities, develop internal solutions, or consider additional vendor offerings.
  • Partner with engineering and technology teams to evaluate opportunities to build internal capabilities, including AI-enabled and agentic solutions that improve employee experience and business processes.
  • Develop clear product roadmaps that help stakeholders understand how and when their desired outcomes will be addressed, including situations where the solution or sequencing differs from a vendor recommendation.
  • Lead discovery, testing, and learning activities to validate product concepts and inform investment decisions.
  • Define and monitor product KPIs to measure employee adoption, business outcomes, operational effectiveness, and overall product value.
  • Work across Workday and internally developed products to coordinate shared features, integrations, dependencies, and backlogs.
  • Communicate product decisions, tradeoffs, and priorities to senior leaders, HR stakeholders, technical teams, and vendor partners.
  • Serve as a trusted Workday product expert while maintaining an enterprise-first perspective rather than focusing solely on vendor adoption.
  • Challenge assumptions and make informed decisions that move work forward without requiring business stakeholders to resolve every individual product or implementation detail.
  • Monitor product investments and operational effectiveness and recommend adjustments based on performance, changing priorities, and emerging employee needs.
  • Lead the development and adoption of product management practices, techniques, and processes that support innovative and scalable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the Workday platform, including an understanding of how products, modules, features, and dependencies work together.
  • Experience leading product strategy and roadmap development for Workday or another large-scale, enterprise SaaS platform in an internal, end-user environment.
  • Workday experience across multiple functional areas. Experience with Core HR, compensation, and time and attendance is strongly preferred. Experience with talent management, recruiting, or onboarding is also valuable.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and communicating build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Experience developing outcome-based product roadmaps and prioritizing competing requests across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong judgment regarding when a technically simple request should be deferred because of broader priorities, testing needs, downstream implications, or limited enterprise value.
  • Experience partnering with engineering teams and evaluating opportunities to use internal technology or AI-enabled capabilities alongside a vendor platform.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to explain complex product decisions and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing product managers.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, cross-functional environment spanning HR, technology, engineering, operations, and vendor partners.
  • Engineering experience is not required, but the candidate should be comfortable discussing technical dependencies, integrations, implementation considerations, and platform capabilities.

Experience

  • Ten or more years of relevant product management, enterprise platform, HR technology, or related experience preferred.
  • Prior experience managing product teams and leading products across multiple business or functional areas preferred.
