This role is fully remote. Candidates must be based in the United States or Canada.

We are Fantasy.

For over two decades, we've partnered with the likes of Google, Microsoft, Nike, Spotify, and Peacock to build digital products used by billions of people every day. We're now entering our most ambitious chapter: designing and building the next generation of intelligent experiences, where AI isn’t a chatbox but the orchestrator of truly personal products and brand experiences.

Your Role.

As a Lead UX Designer, you'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to concept, prototype, and ship meaningful digital experiences for some of the world's most forward-thinking companies.

At Fantasy, you won't just use AI tools. You'll help define how they get used, push what's possible, and set a new bar for what our practice looks like at this moment. This is early, it's exciting, and it's wide open. We're not just designing products. We're actively shaping how AI transforms the craft of design itself and we want people who want to be in the middle of that.

But more than a designer, we're looking for a maker, someone who has taken an idea from concept to shipped product, leading the charge from first sketch to final release. Someone who synthesizes user needs and business goals into tangible, specific design solutions. Someone who's less interested in perfecting a process and more interested in building the future one.

If you're excited to help define what great design looks like in the age of AI, this is the role.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Own the design process end-to-end, from ambiguous brief to polished delivery, using AI tools to move faster, experiment more boldly, and push the work further.

  • Own the craft of interaction design at the highest level, producing polished, best-in-class wireframes for complex flows and large-scale deliverables, with the hands-on depth to drive that work from first frame to final spec.

  • Distill complex, sometimes competing inputs, user research, business strategy, technical constraints, stakeholder feedback, into a clear design direction that you can defend and ship." to really make a synthesis skill an expectation?

  • Have hands-on experience with AI design tools, Claude, Midjourney, v0, Cursor, or similar, and genuine curiosity about where they're taking the craft.

  • Demonstrate a proven ability to develop a strategic POV from a brief, shaping design strategy that moves businesses forward and articulating it through a clear, compelling narrative for clients and collaborators.

  • Work closely with product, engineering, and clients, not just to align, but to drive a design point of view that balances what users need with what the business requires.

  • Actively translate research, analytics, stakeholder input, and business constraints into concrete design decisions.

  • Know what the work demands at each stage, whether that's a flow, a prototype, a systems framework, or a research synthesis, and use the right artifact to move the right conversation forward.

  • Build scalable design systems built for consistency, accessibility, and the realities of fast-moving products.

  • Lead client presentations, workshops, and working sessions with clarity, confidence, and a point of view.

  • Actively identify what's next, in process, in tools, in practice, and bring others along for it.

Experience and Skills.

  • A portfolio demonstrating a range of digital product, service, or systems design work.

  • Approximately 7+ years of professional experience in UX, product, or experience design or equivalent practical expertise.

  • Familiarity with AI-powered design tools and workflows, and an interest in exploring how emerging technologies can enhance the design process.

  • Ability to clearly articulate design process and decision-making through wireframes, sitemaps, user flows, prototypes, and documentation.

  • Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional teams delivering human-centered digital experiences.

  • Strong conceptual, strategic, and systems-thinking skills.

  • Experience creating and overseeing complex wireframes, sitemaps, and user flows at multiple levels of scale.

  • Experience producing detailed documentation and collaborating with design and development partners to support effective handoffs.

  • Familiarity with prototyping and light animation to communicate interaction and intent.

  • Experience with research and strategy best practices, and the ability to synthesize insights into clear opportunity areas.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Commitment to inclusive, accessible, and equitable design practices.

Our Commitment

Fantasy has been building diverse, inclusive teams since 1999. We believe the range of perspectives in this building is inseparable from the quality of what we ship. Fantasy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
