What impact you'll make?
This role is a key part of the Controllership team supporting the GE Vernova businesses operating through legal entities based in the Netherlands. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for managing the annual external audits, the preparation of the Statutory Financial Statements and Reports and other local regulatory reports under the Dutch jurisdiction.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Managing Auditor relationship, dealing with audit requests, and providing supporting documentation and evidence.
  • Plan and manage the annual audit activities related to financial reporting with the external auditors.
  • Reconcile & produce the statutory financial information for the annual report and accounts for the entities and branches within the scope
  • Working closely with internal and external Tax support teams in preparation of Financial Statements and Tax filings.
  • Ensure all statutory regulatory filings are completed timely, efficiently and in compliance with the country regulatory requirements.
  • Presentation of the annual Financial Statements to the Board of Directors
  • Ensures the overall company awareness of modification in STAT legislation
  • Job might require support of legal entities based in Belgium and Luxembourg
  • Advise on technical accounting and reporting issues
  • On a needed basis support other projects/global initiatives in your region working with dedicated members of the team 

  

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent knowledge or experience in accounting, finance, or other business-related field and relevant progressive accounting or finance experience  
  • Substantial experience in Audit, Tax and Accounting.

  • Fluency in Dutch and English is a must.

  • Dutch GAAP (NL GAAP) expertise applying accounting principles defined by the Dutch Accounting Standards Board (DASB)
  • IFRS expertise
  • Extensive experience working with financial systems including but not limited to Oracle, Hyperion, FDL, or other related tools.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to develop strong professional relationship with auditors, tax and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner  
  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change  
  • Clear thinking/problem solving successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas  
  • Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others  
  • Confidence/Assertiveness: strong influencing skills

What will make you stand out

  • Ability to work in a constantly changing multinational environment – process, systems and technology
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP or Oracle HFM
  • Extensive Multi GAAP experience - preferably external audit / public accounting experience
  • Chartered Accountant / ACCA certificate
  • Good working knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS and any other local GAAP
  • Effective interpersonal skills and highly professional style when dealing with business clients
