In this role, you will:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient storage solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Develop and maintain enterprise storage standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices
- Lead storage strategy initiatives supporting hybrid cloud and multi-cloud adoption
- Drive onboarding of new storage products, services, and technologies.
- Partner with application, platform, security, and infrastructure teams to accelerate cloud adoption
- Design and implement workload migration strategies between on-premises and cloud environments
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Automate storage provisioning, lifecycle management, and operational workflows
- Establish governance, security, compliance, encryption, and data protection standards
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide architectural recommendations to leadership
- Develop patterns for object, file, and block storage consumption across cloud and hybrid environments
- Collaborate with vendors and product teams on roadmap development and platform enhancements
- Support capacity planning, performance optimization, resiliency, disaster recovery, and cost management initiatives
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership for cloud storage modernization efforts
- 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of experience in storage engineering, cloud engineering, or infrastructure architecture
- Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience designing and supporting:
- Cloud Object Storage
- Cloud File Storage
- Cloud Block Storage
- Cloud Data Protection
- Strong experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
- Proven experience operating in hybrid cloud environments and migrating workloads between on-premises and cloud platforms
- Experience developing engineering standards, architecture patterns, and operational governance frameworks
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, encryption, and compliance requirements
- Experience leading large-scale enterprise onboarding and modernization initiatives
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience operating within a regulated enterprise environment
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized storage solutions
- Experience integrating storage services into CI/CD and platform engineering workflows
