Who we are About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the role

We are looking for a hybrid talent: a leading-edge learning designer who thinks like a product engineer. As a learning architect, you will not just "create content"—you will build the systems, platforms, and tech-forward solutions that deliver Stripe’s development philosophy to every employee in the flow of work.

You will sit at the intersection of our People Development and our Enablement & Ops teams, acting as the bridge that transforms high-touch, human-led programs into scalable, AI-enabled learning ecosystems. You are a "builder of builders," creating the tools and standards that allow our entire team to deliver exceptional, high-standard learning at scale. This role requires a blend of pedagogical expertise, creative design, and a deep understanding of how to leverage AI to scale internal development philosophies across a fast-moving, global organization.

What you’ll do

Strategic partnership & program transformation

  • Consultative architecting: Act as a high-touch partner to People Development DRIs (e.g., Manager & Leadership Development, Team Effectiveness), helping them evolve high-touch, facilitated curricula into scalable digital learning ecosystems that meet Stripes in the flow of work.
  • Modernization audit: Lead a review of Stripe’s existing development content to identify opportunities where technology and AI can broaden the reach and impact of flagship programs without losing their signature rigor.
  • Stakeholder synthesis: Act as a "Product Manager" for learning, synthesizing diverse inputs from PD experts into a cohesive technical roadmap that aligns with Stripe’s talent & development strategy.

Systems architecture & AI innovation

  • AI-driven coaching: Lead the immediate architecture and deployment of AI-driven interfaces that provide context-aware leadership advice and skill-building grounded in Stripe’s unique operating principles and talent philosophy.
  • Infrastructure optimization: Partner with the Ops & Enablement team to build the data "pipes" and knowledge structures that allow our internal content to be surfaced dynamically and reliably.
  • Builder of builders: Create standardized templates, AI prompt libraries, and digital components that empower the broader People Development, Enablement and Operations team to maintain a high bar for craft and beauty independently.

Experience architecture & UI/UX design

  • Functional craft: Transform complex leadership philosophies into bite-sized, scannable, and interactive digital interfaces that reduce cognitive load and prioritize functional beauty.
  • In-platform enablement: Design and optimize learning assets for Stripe’s specific ecosystem (Confluence, Slack, and G-Suite), ensuring high utility mid-workflow.
  • Prototyping & user testing: Build interactive prototypes to test how Stripes engage with new tools, using rapid feedback loops to refine functionality before full-scale deployment.
Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements
  • 7-10+ years of experience in instructional design or learning engineering.
  • A portfolio of "functional beauty": You can demonstrate projects where you’ve transformed "walls of text" into intuitive, beautiful, and highly functional digital experiences.
  • AI native: You move beyond simple prompting to think about how AI can be architected into the learning journey to leverage scale and improve content.
  • Collaborative translator: You have a proven track record of partnering with high-level subject matter experts (leadership coaches, program managers, etc.) to productize their expertise into scalable, high-standard digital formats.
  • Product-led mindset: You think in terms of "user friction" and "interaction models" over "curriculum."
  • Visual design expertise: Mastery of design tools (e.g., Figma) and an obsessive eye for detail in layout, scale, craft and beauty.
  • Thoughtfully fast: You are someone who knows when and what to move fast on and when to be deliberate, balancing a sense of urgency and focus alongside ruthless prioritization.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in a high-growth, rapidly evolving tech environment.
  • Experience in digital product design.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and act as an internal consultant for complex organizational initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the technical constraints and opportunities within tools like Confluence, Slack, and modern LMS/LXP platforms.
