Support contract lifecycle in Ariba (data entry, audits, UAT, reporting), maintain records, assist with process and policy support across platforms, help manage AI-related legal ops projects (UAT, training, adoption), and provide administrative and cross-functional coordination to improve legal operations.
A Legal Innovation and Operations Contractor is a dynamic role that involves working at the intersection of law, technology, and business processes and will collaborate with legal teams and technology vendors to develop and streamline existing processes, conduct research on current issues relevant to legal processes, and assist in the development and execution of process improvements for digital transformation initiatives. This position offers exposure to real-world IT, business, and legal challenges, providing a unique opportunity for an operations-minded student to gain valuable in-house technology experience. The ideal candidate should be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate IT or similar curriculum, have an interest in legal operations, and possess a curious, creative, detail-oriented, and goal-driven mindset. A great attitude and a sense of humor are also highly valued.

Role expectations
Contract Lifecycle Management (Ariba):
- •Accurately enter contracts and metadata into Ariba and perform audits to ensure data integrity.
- Support internal and external audits by retrieving contracts, coordinating responses, and maintaining compliance with company policies.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for workflow changes and system enhancements.
- Generate and review monthly, quarterly, and draft status reports; update data and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Perform record clean-up, maintenance, and assist with ad hoc projects such as contract searches for audits or litigation.
Process & Policy Support:
- Understand end-to-end STS processes, including contract review, vendor onboarding, and PR/PO workflows.
- Apply knowledge of global policies (Contract Policy, PR Policy) and platforms (Ariba, Aravo, DocuSign, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Smartsheet, L Drive) to troubleshoot issues, provide solutions, and redirect requests as needed.
- Generate basic reports and deliver accurate data to stakeholders.
AI and Innovation Projects:
- Assist in managing AI-related legal operations initiatives.
- Execute UAT for AI tools, document results, and report issues.
- Help develop training materials and user guides for new technologies.
- Coordinate feedback collection and support adoption of AI solutions.
- Maintain organized records of project activities and compliance documentation.
Administrative & Cross-Functional Support:
- Schedule meetings, track milestones, and maintain project documentation.
- Monitor deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather data and provide feedback on process improvements.
- Support additional projects as assigned.
What we're looking for
- 1–2 years of experience in a related field—such as a law firm, in-house legal department, contract management, legal operations, administration, or procurement—is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in MS applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Preferred experience with DocuSign, SharePoint, Asana, ServiceNow, SAP Ariba or other contract management software.

- Proven ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced and dynamic organization with limited supervision. Ability to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and willingness to accept new challenges and help solve complex issues.

- Strong organizational skills and time management skills, able to follow through with projects, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and efficiently handle large volume with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail, customer focus, and effective interpersonal skills to serve as a liaison between the legal department and all internal and external partners/vendors.
- Ability to work independently but also to use good judgment to call out issues when needed – intelligent, reliable and a self-starter who takes initiative.
- Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and dedication in the fulfillment of commitments. High level of personal integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity, sense of humor and willingness to grow.
