About the role
We are looking for a Lending Compliance Manager to build, implement, and operate the Compliance Management System (CMS) for Félix Credit, Inc., starting with the Send Now, Pay Later (SNPL) product and expanding into future lending products.
This role is not a traditional compliance role.
You will act as the builder and operator of compliance controls, ensuring that compliance is embedded directly into product design, underwriting logic, servicing workflows, and customer experience — not layered on after the fact.
You will work closely with the Head of Credit Risk, Product, Engineering, Fraud, and Operations teams to ensure that Félix’s lending platform scales responsibly, remains regulator-ready, and delivers fair outcomes to customers.
Your objective is to ensure that growth, automation, and compliance scale together, without creating regulatory, operational, or consumer harm risk.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the Compliance Management System (CMS) for Félix Credit’s lending products (starting with SNPL).
- Ensure all lending activities comply with TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, FCRA, UDAAP, EFTA/Regulation E (as applicable), and Texas Finance Code Chapter 342.
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear product requirements, control logic, and acceptance criteria for lending features and workflows.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure disclosures, loan agreements, and customer flows are compliant by design before launch.
- Review and approve new lending features, pricing structures, and product changes from a compliance standpoint prior to deployment.
- Ensure underwriting policies and automated decisioning frameworks comply with fair lending requirements and are free from prohibited bias.
- Design and execute compliance monitoring and testing programs across underwriting, disclosures, servicing, and collections.
- Validate the accuracy and completeness of loan disclosures, APR calculations, and fee structures on an ongoing basis.
- Oversee compliance of servicing practices, including payment processing, borrower communications, and error resolution.
- Ensure collections practices align with FDCPA principles, state requirements, and UDAAP standards.
- Own the complaint management framework for lending, including intake, investigation, resolution, and root-cause analysis.
- Identify, track, and remediate compliance issues and control gaps, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Maintain and update lending policies, procedures, and control documentation, clearly separating policy (what) from execution (how).
- Establish and maintain regulatory change management processes to ensure lending operations remain compliant as laws evolve.
- Ensure all lending-related activities are fully documented, auditable, and exam-ready at all times.
- Act as a key point of contact for regulatory exams and audits related to lending compliance (e.g., Texas OCCC).
- Build and deliver role-based compliance training for teams involved in lending (credit, servicing, support, product).
- Partner with the Head of Credit Risk to ensure credit strategy is implemented in a compliant, controlled, and auditable manner.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in consumer lending compliance, fintech, or regulated financial services
- Strong knowledge of: TILA / Regulation Z, ECOA / Regulation B (Fair Lending), FCRA, UDAAP, EFTA / Regulation E (preferred), State lending frameworks (Texas experience is a plus)
- Experience building or operating a Compliance Management System (CMS) in a regulated environment
- Ability to translate regulations into product and engineering requirements
- Experience working closely with:
Credit risk teams.
Product and engineering teams.
Fraud, financial crime and operations teams.
Strong analytical mindset; comfortable working with data and identifying risk patterns.
Ability to operate in high-growth, ambiguous environment.
Bias for action — you move from concept → implementation quickly.
- Strong communication skills with ability to interface with regulators and senior leadership
These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.
- You think in systems, not checklists
- You are a builder, not just a reviewer
- You care about real customer outcomes, not just regulatory compliance
- You understand that:
Good controls enable growth.
Bad controls create friction and risk.
- You are comfortable being the person who says: “This works. This breaks. Here’s how we fix it”
- Spanish fluency strongly preferred.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary
- Initial stock options grant
- Annual performance bonus
- Health, dental, and vision plans
- Remote work environment, although we have offices in Miami and México City and would love to work in hybrid model if you are up to it.
- Continuous learning opportunities
- Unlimited PTO
- Paid parental leave
- Empowering opportunities for growth in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment
