Who We Are

Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.

Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.

About the Role:

Notion has millions of users, and the Lifecycle Lead owns how we help them get value quickly, repeatedly, and in ways that stick. You’ll lead our lifecycle engine and rebuild it for an AI-native world, owning the growth work behind engagement and retention and moving users from first value to lasting habits across their whole journey.

Day to day, that means turning customer context and product signals into the right message at the right moment, across email and in-product, and improving it through steady experimentation. It also means rebuilding the systems underneath, so programs ship faster and get smarter as Agents and automation take on more of the work.

We’re open on background. You might come from lifecycle, growth, or product management, or somewhere in between. What matters is that you start from the customer, move easily across functions (marketing, product, data, design), and hold a high bar for what you ship.

What You'll Do:
  • Own the customer journey end to end: You own the full lifecycle as one experience, from strategy through launch. Set the priorities, run the programs that grow Notion so customers get real value (adoption, repeat usage, revenue).

  • Build the systems behind it: Improve how lifecycle actually runs, from intake and execution to QA, measurement, and channel governance. Work natively with AI and cross-functional teams to define the system (reverse ETL, data pipelines, APIs, webhooks, event triggers).

  • Turn customer signals into the right message: Talk to customers to understand audiences, messages, channels and times. Feed what you learn back into readouts and the roadmap.

  • Work from data: Set hypotheses, put the tracking in place, measure the lift, and learn. Keep lifecycle in step with cross-functional teams so our customers have a cohesive experience.

  • Build and lead the team: Hire and lead a team of lifecycle builders, and set the bar for how this work gets done.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:
  • 8+ years in lifecycle marketing, product management, or growth, ideally with PLG experience. We care more about how you think than your title.

  • You’ve owned lifecycle programs, communication programs or product surfaces that talk to customers, and can point to results you’ve driven (adoption, retention, and revenue).

  • You start from the customer. You break down messy problems, turn qualitative and quantitative inputs into clear audiences, and hold a high bar whatever your background.

  • You can understand and build the plumbing: reverse ETL, data pipelines, APIs, webhooks, and event triggers. You like building reusable tooling with AI and Agents, and can take a workflow from brief to launch to measurement. You can answer “what have you built with AI in the last 90 days?”

  • You can design an A/B test with a real hypothesis and a holdout, define the metrics, work with Data and Engineering on eventing, and explain statistical significance to someone non-technical.

  • You write well, and can turn a fuzzy problem into a clear message, a next step, and a case that convinces people.

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience across B2B and B2C surfaces and journeys

  • Experience shipping in a high-velocity, experiment-driven environment

  • Experience with Customer.io

  • Comfort using AI and automation tools to personalize lifecycle at scale

A Note on AI

You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
