Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2026 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the Role

As a Lifecycle Marketing Manager at Flex, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by overseeing transactional communications with our customers, ensuring a seamless experience using Flex.

You will own and optimize product-led messaging within the customer lifecycle (e.g., payment confirmations, reminders, status updates), and multi-channel campaigns (email, push, SMS) to ensure customers understand and can successfully use Flex. You will oversee a high volume of unique campaigns across segmented user journeys to drive engagement, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve retention. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Strategy, Compliance, and Customer Support to align messaging with product updates and customer needs while ensuring regulatory compliance.

We are looking for a data-driven Lifecycle marketer with experience optimizing transactional communications who thrives in a high-execution, fast-paced environment. You are a strong cross-functional collaborator and are comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution. If you are highly organized, action-oriented, and passionate about creating seamless customer experiences, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Transactional Communications Ownership: Maintain and optimize transactional communications (payment confirmations, reminders, status updates, and related product-led messaging) to ensure a seamless customer experience across product and owned channels (email, SMS, push).

End-to-End Campaign Development: Own the full lifecycle of communications — strategy, messaging, campaign development, and automation — across segmented user journeys, without relying on a dedicated creative team.

Performance Analysis & Optimization: Track and analyze campaign performance to identify opportunities that improve customer engagement, retention, and overall communication strategy. Run a structured A/B testing agenda and translate results into concrete next steps.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Marketing, and Compliance to support new product launches, regulatory compliance requirements, and customer experience enhancements. Act as the go-to voice on transactional comms in cross-functional conversations.

Critical Incident Response: Execute real-time communications to support critical incident resolution during the rent cycle, including occasional on-call support during nights and weekends.

Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in CRM or lifecycle marketing email and SMS campaign management, preferably in a highly regulated industry (e.g., FinTech, HealthTech).
  • Proven experience managing campaigns across multiple channels (email, SMS, push) from creative development through execution, with a strong focus on A/B testing and continuous optimization.
  • Proficiency with email and SMS marketing platforms (Braze preferred), A/B testing tools, and analytics software. Comfort with segmentation logic and campaign QA
  • Strong ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies for improving marketing performance and customer engagement.
  • Strong executor, able to move projects forward independently and with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with building AI-assisted approaches for repeatable work (segmentation, QA, drafts, analysis), with sound judgment on when to rely on AI output versus apply closer human review
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, product, data, and compliance teams. Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Creative, innovative thinker with a passion for optimizing user experience through digital communication channels.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications regulations (TCPA, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, etc.) and understanding of the importance of compliance in marketing communications.
