Job Description

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative for freight forwarding drives revenue growth by supporting BDM while securing new customer accounts and expanding business with existing clients. This role focuses on phone, email, and digital outreach to sell global logistics services, including air, ocean, and ground freight. The representative works closely with BDM, pricing, operations, settlement and customer service teams to deliver competitive shipping solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Support & Lead Generation
  • Prospecting: Identify and qualify new sales leads through cold calling, email campaigns, and market research.
  • Partner with BDMs to execute on new sales leads.
  • Research target accounts to map key decision-makers and uncover new shipping opportunities.
  • Schedule qualified meetings and discovery calls for BDMs.
  • Pipeline Management: Qualify inbound leads by identifying customer shipping volumes, lanes, and pain points.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospective clients using the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Closing Deals: Negotiate freight rates, terms, and service agreements to secure profitable new shipments.
  • Account Expansion: Cross-sell and upsell additional logistics services (such as customs brokerage or warehousing) to current accounts in support of BDM.
  • Pricing and Quotation Management
  • Rate Requests: Coordinate with pricing, procurement, and operations teams to gather competitive ocean, air, and truckload rates.
  • Proposal Preparation: Prepare accurate, professional freight quotations and proposals for client presentation
  • Follow-Up: Follow up on outstanding quotes to close business or gather valuable market feedback.
  • Collaboration and Operations
  • Handoffs: Ensure a smooth operational handoff of newly won accounts to the customer service, settlement and operations teams.
  • Market Feedback: Report competitor pricing trends and market conditions to management.
  • CRM & Pipeline Management
  • Maintain clean, up-to-date records of all prospect interactions, leads, and account statuses in the company CRM.
  • Track quotation win/loss ratios and report weekly sales metrics to the sales team.
  • Support preparation of tender responses, RFQs (Request for Quotations), and sales presentations.

 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • Bilingual in Korean and English required.
    • Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required
    • Experience supporting freight forwarding sales or business development in the South Korean or Chinese market is a plus.
    • 5+years of transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain related experience.( 1 to 3 years of inside sales or customer service)
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data analysis) and PowerPoint. experience using with FIS, WMS, CRM software (such as Salesforce or HubSpot).
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
    • Strong understanding of international transportation, freight forwarding, and North American transportation networks.
    • Travel %: Up to 0% in U.S. / 10% local Southern Cal
