About The RoleThe RealReal is seeking highly motivated, self-driven individuals with a proven entrepreneurial spirit and a deep passion for the luxury sector. As a Luxury Sales Specialist (LSS), you will serve as a premier brand ambassador in the field—prospecting, cultivating high-value relationships, and building a loyal book of business with an elite clientele.
Your primary focus is the strategic acquisition of luxury consignment inventory from individual private clients. This autonomous role is ideal for independent sales professionals who excel at high-net-worth networking, white-glove client service, and luxury relationship management.

  • Drive Strategic Consignment Growth: Leverage and expand your personal and professional network—including stylists, personal shoppers, boutique owners, luxury retail associates, and VIP contacts—to source high-quality luxury consignments.

  • Cultivate Elite Client Relationships: Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with affluent clients through highly personalized service and proactive communication.

  • Execute Marketing Strategies: Develop and implement creative outreach, localized marketing initiatives, and networking strategies to attract new consignors and drive repeat business.

  • Exceed Sales Performance Targets: Consistently meet or surpass monthly procurement quotas and KPIs, directly contributing to the brand's market growth.

  • Manage End-to-End White-Glove Logistics: Secure high-end items from clients and seamlessly coordinate the pickup, valuation, and secure shipment to The RealReal’s authentication centers.

  • Deliver Exceptional Client Service: Provide a flawless, premium experience throughout the entire consignment lifecycle to ensure maximum client retention.

  • Conduct Professional Consultations: Present and review consignment contracts, clearly articulate complex terms, and guide sophisticated clients through the valuation and listing process.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with internal teams, including Consignor Relations, to proactively resolve client inquiries and maintain service standards.

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements:

  • Established Network: A robust, active personal and professional network capable of immediately generating recurring, high-value consignment opportunities.

  • Luxury Brand Expertise: Deep knowledge of and passion for top-tier luxury brands across multiple categories, including handbags, Fine Jewelry, and Watches, Women’s and Men’s Ready-to-Wear.

  • Sophisticated Relationship Management: Proven ability to build trust and credibility with high-net-worth individuals through exceptional professionalism and business acumen.

  • Entrepreneurial Sales Drive: A track record of success in target-driven sales, featuring sharp negotiation skills, rigorous attention to detail, and a self-starter mindset.

  • Performance-Oriented: A history of consistently meeting or exceeding aggressive monthly sales quotas and performance metrics.

  • Digital Proficiency: Comfort utilizing advanced CRM software, digital communication tools, and mobile platforms to manage pipelines and client workflows.

  • High Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel 70%+ within your designated regional market to meet clients on-site.

  • A current, valid driver’s license (except in Manhattan and Chicago markets)

  • Car insurance that meets or exceeds local requirements

  • A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Preferred Requirements:
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in outside sales, luxury retail, personal styling, real estate, or high-end public relations.

  • Community Presence: Active involvement or leadership roles within local civic, cultural, or charitable organizations.

This role is commission based. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
