Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop facility supervisors and HIM staff to achieve service, quality, productivity, and financial goals
- Monitor performance against client and Optum key performance indicators and Service Level Agreement commitments; develop corrective action plans when results fall below target
- Ensure accurate and timely patient health information workflows through routine audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance activities
- Lead customer and client experience improvement initiatives, evaluate survey feedback, and implement measurable interventions to address barriers
- Provide facility-level oversight for HIM and related revenue cycle performance improvement processes
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that improve operational efficiency and support regulatory compliance
- Interview, select, onboard, schedule, engage, and develop employees while promoting retention, inclusion, and cost-effective staffing
- Collaborate with clients, physicians, clinics, employees, and cross-functional departments; conduct regular meetings to share information and provide performance feedback
- Manage assigned personnel, budgets, and resources and prepare reports using accurate, statistically sound information
- Lead special projects by developing work plans, coordinating resources, tracking milestones, and communicating results

Required Qualifications:
- RHIT or RHIA certification, or active enrollment in an accredited Health Information Management program with a demonstrated path toward obtaining RHIT (2-year program) or RHIA (4-year degree program) certification
- 2+ years of leadership experience in Health Information Management or healthcare operations
- 2+ years of experience monitoring operational performance measures, quality outcomes, or service-level commitments
- 1+ years of experience coaching employees, delivering performance feedback, or supporting employee development
- 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint in a professional environment
- Working knowledge of health information management practices and healthcare privacy, documentation, or records requirements
- Local to Santa Maria, CA and willing to work onsite 5 days/week
- Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- RHIT or RHIA certification
- 1+ years of consulting, project management, or union environment experience
- Experience with electronic health record and major HIM technology platforms
- Working knowledge of applicable federal and state requirements and standards from healthcare regulatory or accrediting organizations
