The People Analytics Team at Datadog uses data to help our growing organization make better people decisions.

As Manager, People Analytics Data Platform, you’ll lead the team responsible for building scalable, self-service tools that power our people data foundation, including data pipelines and modeling, data governance, BI tools and dashboards, and AI strategy. You’ll work closely with People leaders, People Tech partners, security teams, and central data teams to ensure that Datadog’s people data is accurate, trusted, well-modeled, and easy to use.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture—the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and develop a team of technical people analysts (e.g., Analytics Engineers, Data Platform Analysts), setting clear expectations, coaching for performance, and building technical depth across the team.
  • Define and drive the data platform roadmap spanning reporting tooling, data modeling, governance, pipeline automation, access/security, and AI-enabled analytics.
  • Own the architecture and development of data pipelines and models in tools such as dbt and Snowflake, powering analytics across the employee lifecycle (e.g., recruiting, performance, employee surveys, learning and development).
  • Lead the migration to a unified people analytics reporting and dashboarding environment—including vendor evaluation, row-based security testing, and integration of AI capabilities into the reporting stack.
  • Oversee data governance practices including data quality monitoring and alerting, metric standardization, cataloging, and documentation, and data access policies and security (role-based or row/column-level permissions) for sensitive data.
  • Lead the development of secure AI-powered people analytics tools, natural-language querying interfaces, and scalable self-service data products for People and business leaders.
  • Partner with People Leadership & Business Partners, People Tech, Recruiting, Finance, and central analytics teams to ensure the people data ecosystem supports business needs.

Who You Are

  • 6+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data platform management, or similar fields, including 2+ years leading or mentoring technical teams.
  • 2-5 years experience managing technical analysts, coaching their performance, guiding their career journey, and breaking work into achievable projects and tasks
  • Expertise in SQL and modern data stack tooling (dbt, Snowflake, cloud data warehouses, ingestion/orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or Airbyte).
  • Understanding of HR data domains (HRIS, ATS, LMS, performance, talent, recruiting) and the metrics used in people analytics
  • Experience designing secure and compliant data access architectures (row/column-level permissions, governance frameworks, privacy-preserving models).
  • Experience with managing and building dashboards in BI/reporting tools; familiarity with Tableau, Metabase, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder manager who can translate business needs into technical strategy and clear priorities for a team

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
