Overview
Mastercard is seeking a Manager, Product Excellence Strategy & Insights to help define how product excellence is measured and continuously improved across our product organization.
This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, data insights, and operating model design. The individual will translate data from product systems, workflows, and lifecycle activities into actionable insights that improve how product teams build, launch, and scale products.
The role will partner closely with Product Excellence leadership, product teams, and analytics partners to design measurement frameworks, ensure product data is captured effectively, and identify meaningful performance signals across the product lifecycle.
A key aspect of this role is ensuring that product data collection, metric definitions, and reporting structures are streamlined, consistent, and aligned with the outcomes the organization is trying to drive. This includes helping ensure that product metrics measure the right behaviors, are interpreted consistently across teams, and provide leaders with clear signals for decision-making.
While familiarity with workflow systems and product tooling is valuable, the core mandate of this role is interpreting product signals, improving the quality of product data, and translating insights into strategic improvements to Mastercard's product operating model.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys connecting data, strategy, and product operations to drive better outcomes across a global organization.Key Responsibilities
Product Excellence Strategy
Help evolve Mastercard's product operating model by identifying opportunities to improve how product teams plan, build, and launch products.
Responsibilities include:• Supporting the development of frameworks that define product excellence across the product lifecycle• Identifying patterns in product development, commercialization, and product readiness• Recommending improvements to governance, lifecycle standards, and product processes• Partnering with Product Excellence leadership to drive evidence-based operating model evolutionProduct Metrics & Measurement
Design and maintain measurement frameworks that track product performance and product team effectiveness.
Responsibilities include:• Defining clear, actionable metrics that measure product lifecycle health and effectiveness• Ensuring that product metrics align with desired behaviors and outcomes• Developing frameworks for evaluating product readiness, velocity, and launch success• Partnering with analytics teams to ensure product data is accurately captured, accessible, and interpretable• Establishing consistent metric definitions, methodologies, and governance across product teams
Data Insights & Decision Support
Translate product data into actionable insights that inform leadership decisions.
Responsibilities include:• Analyzing trends across product portfolios and development workflows• Identifying systemic friction points in product development and commercialization• Producing insights that support executive decision-making• Helping leaders understand how product behaviors and processes impact outcomesData Integrity & Workflow Instrumentation
Ensure that product systems and workflows capture reliable, consistent data that enables meaningful measurement and insights across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:• Identifying gaps or inconsistencies in how product lifecycle data is captured across systems and workflows• Recommending improvements to streamline data collection, reporting, and signal quality• Partnering with product systems, analytics, and engineering teams to embed measurement signals directly into product workflows• Ensuring that product tooling captures reliable indicators of product activity, readiness, and outcomes• Supporting the evolution of product lifecycle tooling so that metrics remain consistent, interpretable, and aligned with operating model goalsRequired Qualifications• 6+ years of experience in product strategy, product operations, product management, or analytics-focused roles• Strong ability to translate data into strategic insights• Experience defining or working with product metrics, measurement frameworks, or performance indicators• Strong analytical thinking and ability to synthesize complex signals into clear recommendations• Experience working cross-functionally with product, analytics, and engineering teams• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights to senior leadershipPreferred Qualifications• MBA or equivalent experience in strategy, analytics, or product leadership• Experience working within product organizations or product operating models• Familiarity with product lifecycle frameworks and product development processes• Experience working with product analytics tools or business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL)• Exposure to workflow or product tooling platforms (e.g., Power Platform, ServiceNow, Jira, Salesforce)

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
