About The Team And The Role

The eBay Foundation has been unleashing the power of entrepreneurship and supporting economically vibrant communities since 1998. In 2021, the Foundation embarked on a new strategic vision to significantly deepen its impact. By supporting organizations that provide entrepreneurs with crucial knowledge, resources, capital, and connections, the Foundation strives to remove barriers to entrepreneurship for historically excluded communities.

Our approach focuses on three key areas: providing access to resources, breaking down inhibitors to scale, and participating in long-term systemic solutions. By learning from and partnering with experts in the field, we strive to act as trusted partners to nonprofits and the communities we serve. This requires us to lead with intention and humility across all areas, from grantmaking to board representation and governance.

The eBay Foundation team sets the company’s philanthropic strategy while encouraging employee engagement through programs such as matching gifts and Changemakers. We work closely with senior leadership, including the eBay Foundation Board of Directors, in a highly visible, fast-paced environment. To help advance this mission, we are seeking a Manager, Programs & Operations — an individual contributor who will support grants management, operations, impact measurement, and board activities. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with experience in grants administration, CSR, or nonprofit program management, and a passion for trust-based philanthropy.

What You Will Accomplish

Grants & Program Operations (40%)

  • Support day-to-day grants administration, including vetting, documentation, payments, and record-keeping in our grants management and tracking systems.

  • Serve as a point of contact for select nonprofit partners, serving as a representative of eBay Foundation and putting trust-based philanthropy values into practice.

  • Maintain up-to-date program documentation, templates, and help to streamline consistency across the Foundation’s operations.

Impact Measurement & Learning (25%)

  • Collaborate with True Impact, our external partners, to deliver timely and efficient impact reporting and data analysis. This collaboration will enable impactful storytelling for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Help maintain dashboards and visualizations of progress toward impact goals.

  • Support grantee learning activities and knowledge-sharing moments, including coordinating regular grantee cohort calls and supporting any in-person gatherings.

Board & Operational Support (20%)

  • Assist in preparing agendas, decks, and briefing materials for quarterly Foundation board meetings and executive meetings.

Employee Engagement (10%)

  • Partner with the employee engagement lead to provide operational support for campaigns and volunteer initiatives (e.g., gathering participation data, tracking logistics).

  • Help connect employees with meaningful volunteer opportunities with Global Give grantees, when appropriate.

Special Projects & Team Collaboration (5%)

  • Jump in on cross-functional or time-sensitive projects that advance our team’s learning and impact.

  • Help improve internal systems and workflows for greater effectiveness and equity.

What You Will Bring
  • 6–8 years of relevant experience with at least 3+ in philanthropy, grant making CSR, or social impact roles.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple workstreams and timelines.

  • Familiarity with grantmaking processes and systems

  • Experience with data tracking, basic analysis, and synthesizing insights into reports or presentations.

  • Clear and empathetic communicator, both in writing and speaking.
Comfort navigating ambiguity and working across multiple priorities in a lean team environment.

  • Has strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle a variety of tasks and work efficiently under deadlines.

  • Familiarity with Trust Based Philanthropy practices.
