This is a quota-carrying role with clear accountability for driving revenue, closing strategic deals, and accelerating digital payment acceptance in one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic and fast-growing digital commerce markets.
This opportunity is ideal for a high-performing sales leader with deep expertise in online payments, payment gateways, merchant acquiring, and PayFac models, and a proven track record of winning complex sales cycles, negotiating commercial partnerships, and consistently exceeding sales targets.
Reporting to the Director, Products & Solutions (Acceptance), you will work closely with acquirers, payment gateways, PayFacs, large merchants, and ecosystem partners to grow Mastercard's gateway adoption, transaction volumes, and market share across Singapore and the wider Southeast Asia region.
The Role
1. Own Sales Targets and Drive Revenue Growth
• Own and deliver assigned sales quotas, revenue goals, and transaction-volume KPIs for Mastercard Merchant Cloud and digital acceptance solutions. • Build, manage, and close a strong sales pipeline by identifying and winning new commercial opportunities with Payment gateways, Payment facilitators (PayFacs), Acquiring banks as well as Large online and omni-channel merchants • Lead the full sales cycle - from prospecting and solution positioning through pricing, negotiation, contracting, and go-to-market execution. • Develop commercially robust, data-driven business cases that clearly articulate revenue upside, conversion improvements, and long-term profitability. • Partner with internal stakeholders (pricing, legal, product, operations) to secure approvals, remove obstacles, and accelerate deal closure.
2. Expand Mastercard's Acceptance and Digital Commerce Footprint
• Execute targeted sales strategies that grow Mastercard acceptance volumes and wallet share across key sectors including eCommerce, mobility, food delivery, retail, travel, SMEs, and emerging digital platforms. • Identify whitespace and competitive displacement opportunities to increase Mastercard penetration versus competing payment networks. • Use market insights, merchant pain points, and competitive intelligence to shape high-impact commercial strategies and sales plays.
3. Collaborate With Country & Regional Sales Teams
Act as the Acceptance and Gateway sales specialist for Singapore, supporting account teams to:
• Advance large, strategic, and complex deals • Structure competitive pricing and commercial models • Position clear, ROI-driven value propositions • Deliver sales enablement, solution training, and deal support that improves close rates, deal size, and sales velocity. • Share market and customer feedback with regional product teams to influence product enhancements with clear revenue impact.
4. Build and Monetize Strategic Ecosystem Relationships
• Establish and maintain senior-level commercial relationships with acquiring banks, payment gateways, PayFacs, and high-growth merchants. • Gain deep understanding of partner business models, P&L priorities, and growth objectives to proactively identify revenue-generating opportunities. • Position Mastercard as a strategic growth partner, not just a payment provider, to secure long-term volume commitments and platform adoption.
5. Maximize Customer Performance and Lifetime Value
• Lead regular commercial and performance reviews focused on volume growth, conversion optimization, and revenue expansion. • Identify upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities to increase customer lifetime value and recurring revenues. • Ensure high customer satisfaction, strong engagement, and proactive issue resolution to protect revenue and drive retention.
