About Mecka AI

Mecka AI is building the data infrastructure layer for robotics and embodied AI.
We design and operate global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems.
We work closely with frontier robotics teams to bridge real-world data, simulation, learning-based systems, and deployed hardware.

About the Role

As Manager, Strategic Finance & Deal Desk, you will build the deal desk that every commercial team runs its deals through, and own the models behind the prices we quote and the rates we pay. You will turn our cost data into pricing that holds as volumes grow, review every material deal before it is signed, and work with leadership on the business cases, unit economics, and capital allocation calls that decide where we invest next.

What You Will Do
  • Deal desk: Build and run one front door for pricing across our sales, partnerships, capture, and data acquisition teams, with a standard intake, approval thresholds, and an answer within an agreed turnaround. Give the commercial teams calculators and templates, built with AI tools where they help, so routine deals price themselves and the desk spends its time on complex ones.

  • Pricing: Set the pricing frameworks and guardrails for customer programs and supply deals, including volume tiers, exclusivity premiums, payment terms, and the floors our negotiators work within.

  • Cost model: Own cost per deliverable hour by channel, market, and product with our FP&A and operations teams, so every price we quote and every rate we pay starts from what the data costs us.

  • Deal structuring: Model the margin, cash, and risk of non-standard deals, work with legal on the terms, and recommend structures that protect margin and cash, such as prepayments, deposits, milestone payments, and minimum commitments.

  • Acquisitions: Set the valuation method and return targets for buying datasets and other data assets, model each purchase against the demand behind it, and keep one tracker of every deal from offer to close.

  • Deal performance: Track every signed deal against its model, report actual margin and cash by customer and partner, and feed what you learn back into pricing and the forecast.

  • Strategic finance: Partner with leadership on business cases for new products, markets, and partnerships, on capital allocation, and on the metrics we report to our board and investors.

What You Bring
  • Experience: 5 to 8+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, pricing or deal desk, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or management consulting, including time at a high-growth marketplace or technology company.

  • Modeling: You build unit economics and deal models from scratch, and senior leaders have made decisions on them.

  • Commercial judgment: You have priced and structured complex commercial deals, and you can explain to a sales lead in plain numbers why a deal works or does not.

  • Analytics: Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills, and comfort pulling your own data from operational and financial systems.

  • AI fluency: You use AI tools in your day-to-day work to build models, analyze deals, and automate routine pricing work.

  • Agency: A high degree of initiative and comfort with ambiguity. You will set your own priorities and build processes where none exist yet.

Even better if you have
  • Industry: Strategic finance or pricing at a two-sided marketplace, delivery, gig, or AI data company, where both supply and demand are priced.

  • Enterprise contracts: Experience with large enterprise or multi-year agreements, including minimum commitments, prepayments, and usage-based pricing.

  • Acquisitions: Experience valuing and closing acquisitions of companies or assets.

  • Revenue recognition: Working knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606 for contracts with prepayments, milestones, and multiple deliverables.

  • Qualification: CPA, CFA, or MBA.

If you don't check every box above but believe you can do the job, we encourage you to apply — we're looking for capability and trajectory, not a perfect checklist match.

We strive to create an inclusive work environment for all; we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, we will partner with you to meet your needs.

We may use AI-assisted tools to help evaluate applications against the requirements of this role. These tools support our recruiting team in identifying qualified candidates but do not replace human judgment or limit which applications may be reviewed or considered.
