Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

Job Description Summary:

Lead and develop manufacturing engineers and technicians: set priorities, allocate resources, conduct reviews, and create succession plans.  Serve as primary engineering escalation point and build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Ensure drawings, specifications and customer requirements are met, via training, standardized processes, documentation, CAD files, and data governance. Oversee CAD generation/review, enclosure modifications, and enforcement of CAD and data standards. Drive new product/process development and scale-up: equipment selection, process qualification/validation, gate reviews, and release decisions. Lead continuous improvement in safety, quality, training, delivery, and cost using Lean/6σ; measure and report outcomes. Support capital projects, facility layout, workflow optimization, and tooling strategies; prepare business cases and ROI analyses. Approve and maintain production schedules, costs, BOMs, routings, assembly/test plans, and shop-floor readiness for launches. Oversee design, development, and validation of test equipment; ensure coverage, pass/fail criteria, and compliance. Direct root-cause analysis for returns/nonconformances, implement CAPA, and track Effectiveness. Review major programs for accuracy and margin health; act on operational reports (open orders/quotes, WIP, ECO/ECN) to remove bottlenecks. Define and monitor KPIs (launch OTD, first-pass yield, COQ, ECO cycle time, test coverage, labor efficiency) and implement corrective actions. Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality systems, support internal and external Audits.

 

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering (any) or related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. In lieu of a Master’s degree in Engineering (any) or related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience, the employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any) or related field of study and five (5) years of experience. in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must have demonstrated experience with: Prototype set up, BOM Validation, pilot builds, ECO/ECN management, and design optimization for manufacturabilitiy, cost, yield, and safety; define test requirements and coverage, set pass/fail criteria, and implement safe, repeatable test procedures; ensure clear operator work instructions with visuals, torque specs, QC checkpoints, and traceability; drawing markup and documentation control; ensure GD&T, materials, notes, and standards are correct and consistent; manage revisions through formal change control; Watlow D8 Controller configuration (inputs, PID loops, outputs, alarms, communications) troubleshooting and test procedure management; Rockwell Automation tools (Connected Components Workbench, RSLinx or RSNetworx); Steinhauer Enclosure Modification Center programming, setup, and troubleshooting; AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CAD software; PDM/PLM practices; Lean Six Sigma methodologies; and PFMEA/DFMEA, control plans, and process capability (Cp/Cpk).

 

Salary offered for the position is: $170,248.00 - $175,128.56/year.
