The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in managing and optimizing paid search campaigns for Zaelab’s clients. This is a part-time, client-facing contractor role focused on driving measurable performance through Google Ads and Bing Ads while building strong, trusted client relationships.

You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and translate campaign data into clear, strategic recommendations.

Success in this role means taking ownership of accounts, thinking beyond the numbers, following through thoroughly, and proactively driving performance improvements in a delivery-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimize paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Bing Ads
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze trends, and implement data-driven optimizations
  • Lead or support biweekly client meetings focused on performance reviews, insights, and optimization discussions
  • Maintain regular client communication, sharing updates, recommendations, and next steps
  • Identify and proactively implement opportunities to improve account performance
  • Audit existing and legacy campaign structures and quickly identify areas for impact
  • Apply sound judgment around platform automation, including when to lean in and when to challenge default recommendations
  • Collaborate internally with cross-functional team members to align on priorities, delivery, and client needs
  • Manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously with strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ensure clear ownership and thorough follow-through on action items and recommendations

Requirements
  • 3–5 years of media buying experience, with at least 2 years focused on paid search campaigns
  • Hands-on experience managing Google Ads and Bing Ads campaigns
  • Experience working in a client-facing, agency-style environment
  • Proven track record of improving campaign performance with measurable results
  • Experience managing existing or legacy paid marketing campaigns and identifying opportunities to quickly impact performance
  • Comfortable implementing and managing conversion tracking for Google Ads and Bing Ads
  • Experience scaling eCommerce brands through search marketing
  • Understanding of customer segmentation and paid media attribution
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, client presence, and strategic thinking
  • Proactive mindset with strong ownership and thorough follow-through
  • Proficiency with Google or Microsoft Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.)
