About the Role:
As a Senior Compliance Associate, Marketing at Chime, you’ll be the first point of contact for marketing and growth compliance for our growing product offerings in the credit, lending, and deposit spaces. You’ll ensure we adhere to federal, state, and local agency regulations. This will involve partnership with internal teams, as well as collaboration with our issuing bank partners’ legal and compliance teams, to facilitate quality and innovative compliance risk management solutions. You’ll work with internal and external partners to review, advise and launch innovative marketing and advertising campaigns at Chime. You will achieve success by leading yourself, the team, and the business to bring the best products to market for our amazing Chime members!
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis on federal, state, and local regulations affecting the banking industry, especially as it relates to the marketing and advertising of those services, as well as promotions and sweepstakes and other marketing campaigns more generally.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert and possess in-depth knowledge of consumer laws and regulations related to the marketing, advertising, promotions, and sweepstakes, especially as it relates to offering of consumer banking products to ensure Chime’s adherence and compliance with, but not limited to, all necessary disclosures related to the Federal Trade Commission Guidance, Fair Credit Reporting Act (Regulation V), Truth In Lending Act (Regulation Z), Unfair, Deceptive, and Abusive Acts and Practices, Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Regulation E), and Truth in Savings Act (Regulation DD) as well as state-specific rules and regulations
- Partner with Marketing and Growth teams to advise on ideation and experimentation of new marketing and growth strategies to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state rules and regulations, including researching and communicating risk for new marketing and growth campaigns and mitigation of risk
- Oversee and develop internal documentation to provide compliance obligation frameworks and controls for use by business and support functions for new and existing marketing and growth campaigns
- Manage and oversee Compliance Associates - Marketing
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in banking or financial services
- Juris Doctor preferred
- Specific knowledge of key rules and regulations related to federal and state sweepstakes, marketing and advertising, including but not limited to: Federal Trade Commission Guidance, Fair Credit Reporting Act (Regulation V), Truth In Lending Act (Regulation Z), Unfair, Deceptive, and Abusive Acts and Practices, Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Regulation E), and Truth in Savings Act (Regulation DD) as well as state-specific rules and regulations
- Experience researching, interpreting, and applying rules and regulations related to federal and state sweepstakes, marketing and advertising
- Love to collaborate and have the ability to influence both your colleagues and external partners to achieve consensus on regulatory risk issues and appropriate mitigation
- Possess excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Are results-oriented and work with minimum supervision
- A strong candidate also has worked in the bank partnership model and has experience managing people
