The Structures organization within Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Master Scheduler to join our team.  This position will provide direct support to the Master Scheduling function and its internal product value stream customers.  The Master Scheduler will help to plan, issue and control various manufacturing operations in support of on-time delivery of advanced composite space and aerospace flight hardware.

This is a 1st shift position located in San Diego, CA.  On-site attendance is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, supply chain, manufacturing, quality and test personnel to build, communicate and maintain execution plans that meet internal milestones and customer on-time delivery dates.

  • Utilize automated planning software to perform schedule analysis and reporting, including critical path analysis and assessment, schedule risk assessments, and schedule health metrics analysis.

  • Gather and compile information to create summary level and detailed program/project network schedules utilizing automated planning software.

  • Perform program and work center schedule risk analyses and simulations using Dynafact Master Scheduling software to determine impacts of constraints, delays and/or re-prioritizations.

  • Perform capacity versus demand variance analyses for each major operational work center and communicate constraints to scheduling and operations teams.

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to identify constraints impeding critical path flow of operations.

  • Advise Management Team of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems to ensure personnel, equipment, materials and services are scheduled and provided as needed.

  • Support and maintain daily management visual boards used to identify and mitigate risks of near-term and long-term delivery misses.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant work experience in Production Planning and/or Master Scheduling in a manufacturing environment.  4 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.

  • Strong attention to detail is required as this position requires processing large amounts of data across multiple programs.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to ensure changes to plans are fully understood

  • Ability to organize, balance, and prioritize multiple tasks in a highly dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office required (particularly Excel)

  • Experience in ERP/MRP software including use of Bills of Materials, Manufacturing Orders and Routings required.

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
