Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and gene therapy, is looking for an “Mechanical Engineer I” based in Santa Clara, CA.

 

Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension)

Pay Rate : $52/hr on W2

Seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the development of consumable fluidic devices for next-generation single-molecule DNA sequencing technology. This hands-on role involves flowcell manufacturing, process development, device assembly, component testing, metrology, and engineering support in a collaborative R&D environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support flowcell manufacturing, assembly, and process development for consumable fluidic devices.
  • Assist with SolidWorks design activities and engineering documentation.
  • Perform dimensional, mechanical, and surface metrology measurements, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Conduct component testing, quality inspections, and sample preparation for external analysis.
  • Manage component inventory, shipping/receiving, and laboratory support activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support project milestones.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of industry experience; hands-on laboratory or engineering experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Experience with microfluidics, microfabrication, materials characterization, metrology, or microscopy is a plus.
