The Microsoft Dynamics Technical Lead, reporting into GTech Enterprise Systems, is accountable for delivering scalable, secure, and standards‑based solutions across Grant Thornton’s Microsoft Dynamics CRM ecosystem.
This role serves as the de facto technical authority for all Microsoft Dynamics capabilities, owning the “how and when” of solution design and execution to support standard business as usual operational needs as per the MS Dynamics roadmap demands, as well as Grant Thornton’s ERP rollout strategy, and growth through Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
You will lead internal and external technical teams to design, configure, integrate, and deploy Dynamics solutions across our expanding global platform, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, SDLC standards, and a cloud-first, out-of-the-box implementation approach.
In partnership with Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Data & Analytics, and M&A teams, this role is responsible for designing repeatable, scalable data migration and integration patterns to onboard acquired firms into the firm’s Dynamics-based CRM landscape.
Success in this role requires deep Microsoft Dynamics expertise, strong leadership of distributed technical teams, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, supportable enterprise solutions, while maintaining a forward-looking roadmap.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Microsoft Dynamics solutions across the global firm
- Own solution design, ensuring requirements are translated into scalable, compliant technical architectures
- Direct configuration, development, extensions, integrations, and reporting across Dynamics 365 and Power Platform
- Serve as the firm’s senior technical advisor and SME for Microsoft Dynamics, including roadmap and capability evolution
ERP & M&A Enablement
- Define and lead integration efforts between Dynamics and the firms new ERP system
- Architect and oversee M&A onboarding solutions, including:
- Data migration frameworks
- Integration patterns
- Carve-in/carve-out strategies
Architecture & Integration
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture to align Dynamics solutions with enterprise standards and integration patterns
- Collaborate with Enterprise Data & Analytics to define data models, governance, and reporting strategies
- Oversee integrations using APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures across enterprise platforms
Delivery Governance & Quality
- Ensure adherence to GTech SDLC standards, including:
- Requirements traceability
- Design governance (Design Review Board)
- Testing strategy (unit, SIT, regression, UAT)
- Release and deployment management
- Lead technical teams including developers, integration specialists, data engineers, and system integrators
- Manage vendor and system integrator delivery quality and performance
Testing, Releases & Operations
- In alignment with the testing organization, oversee testing execution across all phases including SIT, regression, and UAT support
- Manage Microsoft release cycles and platform updates, assessing impacts and ensuring adoption readiness
- Support go-live readiness, cutover planning, and post-go-live hyper care
Security & Compliance
- Ensure all Dynamics solutions comply with enterprise security, risk, and data privacy requirements
Business Partnership
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and SMEs to:
- Clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
- Conduct end-to-end impact assessments
- Align to out-of-the-box capabilities before customization
- Maintain and execute against a rolling Dynamics capability roadmap
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 12+ years of progressive experience delivering global enterprise Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions
- Proven experience leading full lifecycle implementations (design, build, test, deploy)
- Strong knowledge across Dynamics modules, including:
- Customer Engagement (Sales, Service, Marketing)
- Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Dynamics architecture and customization frameworks
- Integrations (APIs, Azure Integration Services, middleware)
- Data migration tools and strategies
- Security models and role configuration
- Strong understanding of:
- Enterprise SDLC and release management
- Testing methodologies and quality assurance
- Agile delivery frameworks (SAFe preferred)
- Experience leading global, distributed technical teams
- Experience managing system integrators and external vendors
- Experience supporting large-scale CRM transformations and M&A integration efforts is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across enterprise initiatives
The base salary range for this position is between $187,500 and $359,400. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job -related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.
