Job Description

Title: Motion Designer, Digital & Social Creative

Overview
The Motion Designer will be responsible for creating storytelling-led and visually engaging videos, graphics, and visual effects for various media platforms such as social media, paid media, websites, etc. This role involves collaborating with creative directors/ art directors, copy and social, and translating creative concepts into compelling videos, motion graphics and motion graphic ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and creative environment and bring both creative and technical expertise across a large variety of assets and projects. They will work hand in hand with the brand / social creative team to develop the storytelling and look & feel of David Yurman across social and digital channels.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the conceptualizing and storyboarding process
  • Execute high-quality videos and motion designs that align with the project's objectives and brand guidelines
  • Edit videos, color film and work on title designs, adding a level of excitement, elevation and modernity to every project.
  • Showcase expertise in video editing and motion graphics software, design principles, storytelling.
  • Project Management: handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and help oversee the production process.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team, present ideas, receive feedback, and address cross-functional and leadership requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to deliver innovative and impactful visual content.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • 3-5 years in video editing and motion design or related fields with the ability to create visually appealing and impactful videos. Experience within fashion, beauty and luxury industries.
  • Creative Expertise: A robust portfolio showcasing a variety of projects demonstrating creativity in storytelling, technical skills, and an understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, composition.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in video editing, color-grading, visual effects, motion graphics, compositing, and other relevant techniques. Knowledge of editing and post-production processes. Experience with video retouching also a plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Mastery of industry-standard video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and other relevant tools.
  • AI driven design knowledge is required.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends, staying updated with the latest tools and techniques to create innovative and engaging motion designs.
  • Communications & Collaboration: Strong communications and interpersonal skills for collaborating with Creative/Art Directors and cross-functional teams to receive and implement feedback, while being comfortable sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a critical eye for quality, ensuring deliverables meet luxury standards.

Location: New York, NY (Tribeca)

Work Model: Hybrid Monday - Friday (3 Days in Office / 2 Days Remote)

Estimated Base Salary: $65,000-75,000

Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
