To complement our rapid growth, we are actively hiring for a Network Engineer to operate in a 24/7 Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment maintaining IP Networking components in a production setting.  In this role you will:

  • Participate in projects for Network Operation improvements
  • Review and analyze history of network related incidents and perform preventive measures  
  • Troubleshoot network related issues and communicate with customers
  • Implement best security practices
  • Assist in managing network service providers and equipment
  • Provide capacity analysis and planning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with external customers to troubleshoot any network connectivity related issues
  • Partner closely with Network Architects and Engineers to improve data-center network environments
  • Initiate multiple projects for Network Operation improvements
  • Partner with internal business units to best understand the organization's needs and continuously improve and apply standards for operational excellence
  • Review, analyze and execute network change requests
  • Execute, document, and develop network automation for repetitive tasks

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in medium to large networks, IP Routing, Switching, and Security principles.
  • Knowledge and experience in Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Knowledge and experience in load balancing technologies such F5.
  • Knowledge and experience in Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k.
  • Hands-on skills for Cisco IOS is required and Nexus OS preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of platform operating systems (router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols) MPLS, OSPF, and BGP, and how they interact with the network.
  • Demonstrated operational success with an exceptionally strong data-driven analytical approach towards solving complex challenges.
  • Documenting solutions with diagrams and proper description is required.
  • Experience with incident response, information assurance, computer security best practices, system hardening, vulnerability management, antivirus, SIEM, firewalls, IPS/IDS monitoring, and techniques for analyzing TCP/IP network traffic and event logs.
  • Excellent communications, both oral and written.

Nice to have:

  • Telecommunications experience - VoIP, RTP, SIP peering/trunking and SBC is a huge plus.
  • Network automation experience, e.g. ansible, terraform, python is a huge plus.
  • VXLAN experience is a plus.
  • Experience with implementations of solutions involving large data centers, interoffice routing plans, site2site VPNs, FWs, IPSec, monitoring, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience with network analysis tools- netflow, snmp, packet brokers, etc. is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Linux network functions; SaaS/Cloud-based software environment a plus, but not required.

 

Work Location: This role is fully remote for candidates who reside outside the 50 mile radius of our San Ramon office.  For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San Ramon location, this role is Hybrid and would require 3 days a week (M, W, TH) in our San Ramon office.

Additionally, the total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

The US base salary range for this role is below.
$83,800$200,600 USD
