About this role

As an Account Executive at Preqin, you will drive new business growth across a defined territory by identifying, engaging, and converting prospective clients. You will develop a deep understanding of client needs, build relationships with key stakeholders, and demonstrate the value of Preqin's data, research, and technology solutions across the alternative investment lifecycle. 

Focused on the East Coast market, you will own the full sales cycle from pipeline generation through close, build a robust pipeline of opportunities, and partner across BlackRock to deliver impactful solutions that help clients achieve their business objectives. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, securing stakeholder buy-in, navigating complex buying groups, and driving opportunities to successful outcomes 

  • Drive client acquisition within a defined territory by building and managing a pipeline of new business opportunities through market intelligence, outbound prospecting, and strategic relationship development. 

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer personas, workflows, and business objectives, build relationships with key stakeholders, and deliver tailored product demonstrations that effectively communicate the value of Preqin's solutions and drive commercial outcomes. 

  • Partner with colleagues across BlackRock to deliver a coordinated client approach, identify cross-sell opportunities, and expand the firm's relationships within existing and prospective clients. 

 

What Skills & Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of successful new business sales experience within financial services, market data, alternative investments, fintech, or B2B SaaS. 

  • Consistent track record of exceeding sales targets and driving client acquisition. 

  • Passion for financial markets and alternative assets, with an understanding of how data and technology solutions support investment professionals and drive investment decision-making. 

  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage a complex sales cycle and deliver commercial outcomes. 

  • Strong technology aptitude with a demonstrated ability to adopt and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance client engagement, improve sales execution, and drive commercial outcomes. 

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$132,000.00 - USD$180,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
