NPI Program Management Intern

Lunar Energy is looking for an NPI Program Management Intern to support the planning and execution of hardware builds across our development cycle. You'll work hands-on with cross-functional engineering teams, gaining real exposure to how hardware products are built — from early development through validation. This is a great opportunity to build foundational skills in program management and NPI in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Lunar Energy was founded to transition homes to 100% clean energy—making our electricity greener, our air cleaner and our energy more safe, secure and reliable for all. We’re a fast-growing, global company building the world’s best clean energy products to electrify all homes and connect communities to form clean, resilient virtual power plants.

On a given day at Lunar, you'll likely…

  • Support planning and coordination of engineering builds (EVT, DVT, PVT), including tracking parts availability, BOM alignment, and build readiness
  • Maintain build trackers, action item logs, and status dashboards to keep teams aligned and on schedule
  • Attend engineering and build readiness reviews, capturing notes, open actions, and key decisions
  • Track build issues and follow up on defect closure across hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics across internal teams, contract manufacturers, and lab facilities
  • Assist with documentation, process improvements, and ad hoc operational tasks for the NPI team

Desired Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable communicating with engineers and stakeholders across functions and levels
  • Proficient in common productivity and project tracking tools (Excel, Google Sheets, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar)
  • Eagerness to learn hardware development processes, NPI fundamentals, and program management practices
  • Prior coursework or internship exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or product development
  • Familiarity with hardware development concepts such as BOMs, ECOs, or build cycles
