About AIUC

AIUC builds standards and insurance for frontier AI. Our mission is to Underwrite superintelligence. We exist because risk, not capability, is becoming the binding constraint on AI being useful. History offers lessons for how to build confidence in new technology; electricity burned down houses until insurers funded Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to certify products against their standards. Today, the UL mark is a trustmark on every light bulb in America. We’re building that for AI.
AIUC-1, our standard for agent security, serves frontier builders like Cursor, Lovable, ElevenLabs, and Harvey. We've raised $55m from Ribbit, First Harmonic and Nat Friedman to audit frontier AI. Our team comes from METR, Anthropic, McKinsey, and OpenAI. Come join us.

The Role

We're hiring an Office Manager to own how AIUC's San Francisco office runs, day to day. This is a high-ownership role for someone who takes pride in managing a workplace that our employees love coming into to do their life’s work, meaning the kitchen is stocked, the conference room joins with one click, new hires have a laptop and building access on day one, guests feel welcome, and problems get fixed before anyone notices them.

You'll be the first point of contact for everything office-related and the owner of the systems behind it: vendors, facilities, onboarding, access, and the physical-security side of our compliance program. As we grow headcount, you'll turn ad-hoc tasks into repeatable routines so the office scales without depending on any one person's memory.

In this role, you will:

  • Run the SF office: daily restocking of snacks, drinks, fresh food and supplies, the daily lunch program, first aid/AED upkeep, cleanliness, and general facilities

  • Own facilities and vendors: act as liaison with building management, janitorial, and contractors (HVAC, repairs, access, parking, COIs), compare options before buying, and push stalled projects to done

  • Own the physical workspace: furniture and hardware procurement, installation, seating plans, desk setups, and conference room AV (TVs, cameras, speakerphones, Meet/Zoom), plus office internet and shared devices

  • Run onboarding and offboarding end-to-end: new hire coordination, pre-boarding comms, first-day setup, laptops, orientation, and provisioning/removing access across building and company systems (Swiftlane, Google Workspace, Slack, and more)

  • Own people ops & finance to make sure our staff is paid on time: coordinate with payroll, HRIS, and benefits vendors

  • Administer internal systems & compliance: Slack and Google Workspace settings, email aliases, the employee directory, SOC 2 evidence, and physical-space controls in Vanta, etc.

  • Build the systems behind it all: SOPs, an operations calendar, vendor directory, asset inventory, and onboarding checklists, and spot gaps and fix them without being asked

What we are looking for
  • 4-7 years of experience in office management, workplace operations, or facilities, at a fast-growing startup. Ideally you’ve managed one or multiple office moves

  • Comfortable switching between strategic improvements and highly tactical work; no task is beneath you

  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail; you notice the empty shelf, the expiring medicine, and the vendor who hasn't replied

  • A systems builder: you document, automate, and turn recurring work into routines instead of heroics

  • Comfortable with hands-on IT and hardware: setting up desks and monitors, troubleshooting AV and Wi-Fi, managing accounts and access

  • High ownership and reliability; you follow through, chase what's stuck, and can be trusted with sensitive employee and company information

  • Experience administering security / compliance tasks, e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Vanta, Gusto, etc.

  • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to improve speed and efficiency

  • Excited to work in person five days a week

  • Nice to have: Experience heavily coordinating with and/or managing additional operations staff (e.g., IT operations team member, personal assistant)

Our Values

We are in the business of building trust. We take our values seriously and treat them as commitments to each other, held to the same bar as the ones we make to customers.

  • Strong back: high standards, keep our promises, work hard.

  • Fast feet: experiment, cut scope, take delight in pace.

  • Eyes up: wrestle with the mission, and let where AI is heading shape our strategy, our teams and our day-to-day work.

  • Open heart: say the scary thing, create connection, make room for emotions.

Underwriting superintelligence is our life's work. If you want it to be yours, apply now.

Compensation & Perks
  • Competitive annual salary

  • Equity (significant part of total compensation)

  • Health, dental and vision insurance for you and your dependents

  • Visa sponsorship and relocation stipend to bring you to SF, if needed

  • Daily lunch, dinner & snacks
