The Human Capital Management (HCM) Technical Lead, reporting into GTech Enterprise Systems, is accountable for delivering scalable, secure, and standards‑based solutions in Grant Thornton’s Oracle HCM environment that enable the strategic and operational objectives of the People & Culture (P&C) organization.
This role serves as the technical delivery lead for all P&C‑related HCM platforms and capabilities, owning the “how and when” of solution design and execution. You will lead internal technical teams and system integrators in the design, development, configuration, integration, and testing of Oracle HCM solutions, while ensuring alignment to enterprise architecture, SDLC standards, compliance requirements, and Grant Thornton’s out-of-the-box implementation guidelines.
Additionally, in partnership with Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Data & Analytics, and the Mergers and Acquisitions teams, this role will serve as the technical lead accountable for the end‑to‑end design of HCM data migration solutions that enable efficient, repeatable onboarding of acquired member firms into the Grant Thornton global HCM environment.
Success in this role requires deep Oracle HCM technical expertise, strong leadership of technical delivery teams, and the ability to partner closely with P&C Product Owners and Business Process SMEs translating business requirements into high‑quality, supportable, and scalable technical solutions. Additionally, this role will collaborate with the P&C HCM team to maintain a rolling 18-month business roadmap and plan technical efforts to deliver against it. This role is accountable for the delivery against agreed upon and approved business roadmap needs.
Your day-to-day may include:
- Leading the technical delivery of Oracle HCM solutions supporting People & Culture, including Core HR, Talent, Payroll, Benefits, Time & Labor, Absence, Recruiting, Learning, and Compensation modules.
- Owning end‑to‑end Oracle HCM solution design, ensuring functional requirements are translated into scalable technical designs aligned with enterprise standards.
- Directing configuration, development, module extensions, integrations, and reporting within the Oracle HCM ecosystem.
- Ensuring adherence to GTech SDLC standards, including requirements traceability, design reviews, testing strategy, release planning, and stage‑gate governance.
- Leading and coordinating technical teams, including Oracle developers, integration specialists, data specialists, and external system integrators, e.g. Oracle Consulting Services talent.
- Overseeing the execution of GTech’s testing strategies, including unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), regression testing, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Managing Oracle quarterly releases, assessing impact, coordinating regression testing, and ensuring timely and stable adoption of new functionality.
- Partnering with P&C Product Owners and Business Process SMEs to:
- Clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
- Perform end‑to‑end impact analysis
- Design solutions aligned to out‑of‑the‑box capabilities
- Leverage a Design Review Board approach for all desired solutions requiring platform customization to realize desired business outcomes
- Overseeing technical vendor and system integrator performance, including delivery quality, adherence to standards, and on-time execution.
- Ensuring all solutions comply with security, risk, data privacy, and regulatory requirements, including HR data protection standards.
- Collaborating with Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Data & Analytics teams to ensure integration patterns, data flows, and reporting solutions align to enterprise strategy.
- Supporting go‑live readiness, cutover execution, and post‑go‑live hyper care.
- Acting as a technical advisor to GTech and P&C leadership on Oracle HCM capabilities, limitations, and roadmap considerations.
You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced or Master’s degree preferred.
12+ years of progressive experience delivering enterprise HCM solutions, with deep hands‑on Oracle HCM Cloud expertise.
Proven experience leading full lifecycle Oracle HCM implementations, including design, build, test, and deployment.
Strong functional and technical knowledge across multiple Oracle HCM modules, including:

Experience with Oracle HCM integrations, including REST/SOAP APIs, HCM Extracts, HDL, Fast Formula, and middleware platforms.
Strong understanding of Oracle HCM security models, roles, privileges, and data access controls.
Experience managing quarterly Oracle Cloud releases and regression testing cycles.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery teams across multiple geographies.
Experience working with system integrators and external vendors, including performance management and quality oversight.
Strong understanding of enterprise SDLC, testing methodologies, and release management.
Experience delivering solutions in Agile methodologies, SAFe preferred.
Experience in a professional services or complex enterprise environment is strongly preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate requirements and delivery solutions to business and technical audiences.
Ability to influence without authority and drive outcomes through collaboration.
Willingness to travel as needed.
The base salary range for this position is between $187,500 and $359,400. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job -related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.
