Matternet builds and operates autonomous drone logistics networks that move critical goods faster and more sustainably than ground transport. Our systems are in live operation internationally, and we’re scaling toward the launch of our next-generation M3 platform. It’s a hands-on, fast-moving environment where strong People and operational support is essential to keeping the company organized and the team productive.

We’re hiring a People Operations Coordinator to own and improve the recurring processes that keep our employees supported and the company running smoothly. Reporting to the Head of People and based onsite at our Mountain View headquarters, you’ll manage core People Operations and recruiting workflows, coordinate company-wide administrative processes, and bring consistent ownership to responsibilities that are spread across the team today.

This is an opportunity to build broad, cross-functional experience across People Operations, business administration, and company operations. As you build context and demonstrate strong judgment, you’ll have opportunities to take on additional projects and expand your scope based on your strengths, interests, and the needs of the business.

In this role, you will:

  • Administer recurring People Operations & Administration Coordinator processes, including benefits, employee changes, HRIS updates, leave tracking, required documentation, and other employee lifecycle events.
  • Own the operational side of onboarding and offboarding, including first-week plans, orientation, systems and equipment coordination, required paperwork, office tours, and a warm, consistent employee experience.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine employee questions, resolving requests directly when possible
  • Provide recruiting coordination during hiring ramps, including interview scheduling, candidate communications, job postings, ATS maintenance, feedback follow-up, reference and background checks, offer documentation, and onboarding handoffs.
  • Coordinate recurring business-administration processes such as vendor onboarding, purchasing, documentation, and company-wide operational calendars.
  • Own and maintain the company’s People and administrative records systems—including structure, access, naming, and retention—so information remains organized, secure, and audit-ready as we scale.
  • Administer and improve the tools and recurring workflows that support People and company operations, reducing redundancy and creating greater consistency and efficiency.
  • Coordinate day-to-day workplace and office needs in partnership with Business Operations, ensuring requests are tracked and resolved promptly.
  • Lead team events, offsites, celebrations, and other programs that contribute to a connected and welcoming workplace.
  • Track cross-functional administrative projects from request through completion, keeping owners, deadlines, documentation, and outstanding decisions visible.
  • Take on discrete cross-functional operational projects as needed, with opportunities to expand your ownership over time.

Requirements
  • 3+ years in People/HR/Recruiting operations, administration, office/operations management, or a similarly broad operating role, with experience independently owning processes or projects from end to end.
  • A builder of scalable, efficient processes in a fast-growing company; startup or scale-up experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong systems and tools fluency, with a knack for streamlining, organizing, and creating order.
  • Excellent onboarding and employee-experience instincts, plus solid records/document-management skills.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-through; proactive, resourceful, warm, and discreet with sensitive matters.
  • A natural cross-functional connector and clear communicator who can summarize issues, surface key details, and identify the action or decision needed.

Benefits

At Matternet, we’re advancing a new era of logistics, one where autonomous drones deliver what matters faster, cleaner, and more efficiently. We know our mission is challenging, but it's worth it, and we are committed to taking care of the people who make it possible.
