We’re looking for a People & Culture Generalist to support a fast-paced, high-trust startup environment in a highly technical manufacturing company.
This role spans HR operations, employee relations (ER), HR compliance, HRIS management, and employee lifecycle support across both hourly manufacturing/technician teams and salaried engineering and corporate staff.
This is an opportunity to help build and scale People Operations infrastructure at a fast-growing organization where your ideas, judgment, and execution will directly influence employee experience and company culture.
You’ll need strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to connect day-to-day HR work to broader business needs.
Responsibilities
- Partner with managers and leadership to support employee experience, team effectiveness, and organizational growth
- Own and improve core People Operations processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and HR systems administration
- Build and scale HR policies, workflows, and infrastructure with an ownership mindset and focus on continuous improvement
- Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in HR Generalist, People Operations, or HRBP-adjacent roles
- Strong knowledge of HR compliance, California labor law, and FLSA classification (hourly vs. salaried)
- Experience handling employee relations (ER), investigations, and confidential matters
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, or technical environments
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Rippling, BambooHR, Workday, Gusto, or similar) and comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
