This role is for a PeopleSoft Techno-Functional Consultant with expertise in both technical and functional aspects of PeopleSoft systems, specifically for State governments The consultant will play a key role in implementing, enhancing, and supporting PeopleSoft applications while bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.

  • Conduct fit-gap analysis to identify system enhancements or customizations needed.

  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.

System Configuration and Customization:

  • Configure PeopleSoft modules such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, or Commitment Control (KK) to meet business needs.

  • Develop and modify technical components using PeopleTools, including Application Designer, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, and PeopleCode.

  • Customize delivered functionalities while minimizing deviations from standard PeopleSoft features.

Integration and Data Conversion:

  • Design and implement integrations between PeopleSoft systems and external applications using Integration Broker or web services.

  • Support data conversion processes to PeopleSoft.

  • Ensure seamless data flow between HCM and FSCM modules, including payroll-to-GL interfaces.

Testing and Troubleshooting:

  • Develop test plans and scripts for unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Troubleshoot issues during implementation phases and provide timely resolutions.

  • Validate data accuracy during system migrations or upgrades.

End-User Support and Training:

  • Provide functional support to end-users by addressing system issues or queries.

  • Develop user manuals, training materials, and deliver training sessions on new functionalities or processes.

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users to ensure alignment.

Project Management Support:

  • Assist in project planning, task prioritization, and timeline management.

  • Provide regular updates on project progress to leadership teams.

  • Identify risks related to technical implementations and propose mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with PeopleSoft HCM/Financials version 9.2 in both functional (e.g., GL, AP, AR) and technical areas (e.g., Application Engine, PeopleCode).

  • Hands-on experience in full lifecycle implementations of statewide PeopleSoft projects.

  • Strong knowledge of integration tools like Integration Broker and data conversion methodologies.

  • Proficiency in SQL, SQR, nVision reporting, PS Query, and other reporting tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with hybrid ERP solutions integrating legacy systems into modern platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Knowledge of security configurations for enterprise-level ERP systems.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with a state's financial/HR systems is highly desirable.

  • Experience working in Agile or Waterfall project methodologies.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Certifications in PeopleSoft applications or Oracle technologies are preferred.
