At Boldin, we believe financial confidence should be accessible to everyone. Money decisions shape our lives, yet too often people are left without the clarity or tools they need to make informed choices. We exist to change that.

Boldin is a comprehensive financial planning platform that helps people understand their financial picture, make smarter decisions with their money and time, and plan for the future with confidence.

With over $20M raised and strong momentum, Boldin is entering a pivotal phase of growth. This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven team and help shape the future.

About This Role

We're looking for a Performance Marketing Lead to own paid user acquisition end to end.

You'll own the paid budget, the channel mix, and the number. Today, that means search and paid social do the heavy lifting; from there, you'll decide where we expand next—CTV, podcast, and paid sponsorships, or somewhere we haven't tried yet. You'll make that call based on what the data says, not what's fashionable.

This is a hands-on role with real scope. You'll be in the accounts, writing copy, setting up landing page tests, reporting out on the numbers, and hitting our CAC targets. You'll work directly with our Head of Growth, and closely with data, product, lifecycle, and creative partners. If you like to be hands-on while driving the strategy, this is a good fit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own paid acquisition strategy and execution across all paid channels, with an initial focus on SEM and paid social, then expanding into CTV, paid sponsorships, and new channels as the data supports it.
  • Own the paid media budget: allocation across channels, pacing, and reallocation away from non efficient spend toward what's working
  • Run end-to-end campaign management—strategy, build, launch, optimization, analysis, and reporting
  • Optimize account performance through ongoing keyword work, ad copy testing, campaign structure improvements, and bid strategy
  • Build a consistent testing cadence across ad copy, creative formats, audiences, targeting, and landing pages, and turn results into a documented learning loop
  • Partner with product and design to improve landing page and funnel conversion rates, bringing specific recommendations rather than general feedback
  • Manage performance against efficiency targets (CAC, LTV:CAC, CPA, ROAS) rather than top-of-funnel volume alone, and connect paid spend to registrations, trial starts, and new customer revenue.
  • Analyze audience and placement data to find new opportunities and cut inefficient segments
  • Report on paid performance and test results weekly, and translate results into a clear point of view on what we do next
  • Partner with our data team to make sure attribution, tracking, and conversion measurement are trustworthy—and flag it loudly when they aren't
  • Evaluate and manage agencies, vendors, and tools where they extend our capacity
  • Evolve the acquisition roadmap based on performance, seasonality, competitive shifts, and new audience insight
Requirements
  • 6+ years in performance marketing or paid acquisition, with meaningful time in a consumer/B2C environment
  • Hands-on operator experience in Google Ads and paid social (Meta at minimum; Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube, or TikTok a plus)—you've built and optimized accounts yourself, not just briefed an agency
  • Track record of owning a paid budget of at least $1M annually and hitting efficiency targets, with specific numbers you can walk through
  • Strong analytical skills: comfortable pulling your own numbers from BI or warehouse layer, and able to build your own reporting rather than waiting on someone else
  • Working understanding of attribution, incrementality, and measurement limitations—you know when a number is directional vs. reliable
  • Experience with subscription or freemium business models, and comfort optimizing to downstream revenue rather than lead volume
  • Demonstrated CRO instincts and experience partnering on landing page and funnel testing
  • Clear written communication—you can explain performance and tradeoffs to a leadership audience without a translator
  • Comfortable operating in a small, fast-moving team where you set your own prioritiesSalary Range

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
