Who are we?

IEQ Capital is a Registered Investment Advisor seeking to transform traditional wealth management. Our quest is to integrate the Intellectual and Emotional Quotient, generating exceptional investment results driven by a values-oriented culture that fosters connection and collaboration with our clients. We are an independent, predominantly employee-owned company, adhering to the fiduciary standard to put our clients' interests first. We focus our efforts on helping clients meet their investment objectives without the distractions and limitations that can arise within much larger organizations.

The Role

IEQ Capital is seeking a Platform Engineer to help design, build, and scale the technology systems that power our firm. You will operate at the intersection of product, data, and operations to build the custom applications, automation frameworks, and integrations that extend our core systems and create leverage across the organization. Today, that means workflow automation, system integrations, and purpose-built internal tools. Tomorrow, it means enabling an AI-powered operating platform built on a strong data foundation.

What You’ll Do:

Architect and Build Platform Extensions

  • Design and develop custom user-facing applications and utilities that extend and connect systems
  • Build scalable workflow automation to reduce manual operational processes
  • Create and maintain APIs and services that connect internal and external systems (custodians, reporting platforms, fintech tools)
  • Establish architectural patterns and coding standards for reusable platform components

Partner Cross-Functionally to Solve Real Business Problems

  • Work closely with Product, Business Analysts, and Operations to translate business needs into thoughtful technical designs
  • Identify when to configure, integrate, or build custom solutions
  • Provide technical perspective during discovery and scoping discussions
  • Communicate tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Enable an AI-Ready Platform

  • Design systems that leverage structured data assets in partnership with our Data Developer
  • Build interfaces and workflows that embed AI outputs into operational processes
  • Ensure secure, governed access to APIs and data layers
  • Help evaluate where AI enhances workflows versus where traditional automation is more appropriate

Strengthen Platform Reliability and Scalability

  • Improve monitoring, error handling, and observability across custom builds
  • Contribute to CI/CD and release management discipline
  • Refactor legacy utilities into scalable, maintainable services
  • Reduce system friction for client-facing and operational teams
Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in full-stack or platform engineering roles
  • Strong experience building modern web applications (React, Next.js, or similar frameworks)
  • Experience working with structured data (SQL and data modeling familiarity)
  • Backend development experience (Node.js, Python, or comparable technologies)
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs (RESTful services required; event-driven architecture a plus)
  • Experience integrating with third-party systems via APIs
  • Strong understanding of authentication, security, and role-based access

Preferred

  • Experience working in financial services or wealth management
  • API integration experience (beyond admin-level configuration)
  • Experience in Azure or similar cloud ecosystems
  • Exposure to AI/LLM integrations or AI-enabled workflow design
  • DevOps / CI/CD pipeline experience
  • Experience building backend services in Go or interest in contributing to a Go-based service layer
Compensation

The total compensation range for this role, inclusive of base salary and bonus, is $135,000 - $175,000, depending on skills and experience.
